Been calling him the British Musk ever since he started appearing everywhere.
03.02.2026 22:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm not a fan myself. #onlyconnect
02.02.2026 20:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, nobody was actually willing to make the salient point that Zack Polanski literally has "professional charlatan" in his career history.
29.01.2026 15:15 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One of the things I realised as I became older is that the people who ran the forums, game servers etc. I frequented as a kid had an immense amount of patience for us.
12.01.2026 11:18 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was too young to have played Ocarina of Seasons/Ages when it came out (Minish Cap was basically the first game I ever played) but there's just something about it that says "sat in the living room on Christmas morning" to me. Makes me feel nostalgic.
03.01.2026 05:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A lot of Reddit communities have that low-level echo chamber effect where everything is slightly more intense because everybody agrees with each other. /r/Dogfree is the one where I agree with the basic premise but don't know if it's intense because of that effect or because of American dog culture.
25.12.2025 11:50 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0and another thing: im not mad. please dont put in the rose garden that i got mad.
18.12.2025 14:40 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0I always found it weird how people had such black-and-white views of the characters. I never thought very highly of Daenerys even though a lot of what she did was admirable, and thought Littlefinger's ambition made him worth rooting for even if he was largely bad. People were baffled by that.
16.12.2025 22:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I got the original TOW for PS4 and never played it. May have to give it a look.
17.11.2025 18:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Not exactly what you're referring to but I'm sure Charli XCX used to be rendered 'charli xcx'
12.11.2025 00:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0What's his voting record as a Senator like?
10.11.2025 23:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The minimum wage should not have age bands. I was once taught to do a part-time job by a 17 year old and paid more than her for the privilege. I don't see how that's not, at the very least, socially frowned upon.
17.10.2025 20:30 β π 15 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I recognise that I'm just a different type of boomer for making this generalisation, but I think kids these days don't get enough engagement. I feel I was a good kid because my parents were always talking to me and indulging my niche interests, not because they were relatively strict.
14.10.2025 14:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It may have changed in the last five years, but the Conservative Society were pretty normal back when I was at Keele. The three parties (which, combined, were about 20 people) used to act like a single society to hold events for politicos.
09.10.2025 17:17 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When there's a government shutdown the President goes to the mountains to meditate. This is pretty basic stuff.
03.10.2025 21:36 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I feel the only reasonable response to the question of whether Reform could form the next government at this point is "it's far more likely than it should be". Difficult to put exact odds on it.
08.09.2025 10:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What does one expect to find when they Google random terms like this?
90% of my Google searches are because I'm too lazy to type out the URL, and the others are basically questions expressed as a bunch of key words.
I'd probably use "Green Parties" plural even if they were one party, because it'd be describing regional sub-parties either way.
04.09.2025 15:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0> Be the first woman to serve as finance minister in your country
> Be appointed Deputy PM because you basically do everything
> The Leader resigns because he's 20 points behind in polls
> Stand to replace him
> Lose 85/10
Terrible what happened to Chrystia Freeland. Picture unrelated.
Trying not to sound like a hypocrite while simultaneously saying "we shouldn't idly speculate on the health of political figures we disagree with" and "could Trump get a smidgen of the scrutiny Biden got?"
02.09.2025 21:14 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I had predicted, pre-YP and pre-Polanski, that a Labour defector, probably Sultana, had a pretty good chance of leading the Greens by 2029.
It was admittedly wide odds, but the Labour left needed a vehicle and the Greens needed somebody with energy and a national profile leading them.
Politicians who don't believe in something will massively over-correct when they need to triangulate, because they have no frame of reference for what they can compromise on. You see it with Conservatives trying to out-Reform Reform on immigration, and now we see it with Labour and flags.
02.09.2025 14:20 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The right has largely been able to abandon economics entirely, because the media won't pull them up on it and people have this weird belief that if a party doesn't talk about something, they must have good ideas.
30.08.2025 15:52 β π 14 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I miss the good old days, when Rylan Clark was likeable enough for a Doctor Who cameo. The good old days of (checks notes) May 2025.
28.08.2025 22:33 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0...is that not how it's pronounced?
28.08.2025 22:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't see it as a progressive/reactionary thing, more of an optimist/pessimist thing. I hate to admit it, but when I read optimistic sci-fi, it just doesn't feel realistic to me.
27.08.2025 20:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I remember wording a complaint about their live blog deadnaming Brianna Ghey very carefully, because I knew they would just be like "sorry you were offended". I was absolutely clear that my issue was that it wasn't in the public interest.
Reply was "sorry you were offended".
I've not been in work since I finished my postgrad degree, and I did value the work environment because it reminded me that most people were normal.
23.08.2025 02:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I get it in spurts. Have been reading the Expanse books for about two years now. Read the third and fourth in the matter of weeks, the fifth over a few months, and have been trying for a year to start on the sixth.
