Interesting - because a couple of 'digital marketing' companies running these fake celebrity endorsement / fake news article on fake BBC news website scam ads on Google are limited companies registered in Nicosia, Cyprus with Russian directors, secretaries and staff.

Saw a scam (video) ad on Google ads recently which was using a video hosted on YouTube as the ad (deepfake video of Martin Lewis promoting a cryptocurrency investment).

They didn't bother to change the file name to a title - the word in Russian means 'copy'.

Reported to YouTube who did nothing.

I was incorrectly listed as not having paid multiple months over multiple years (had multiple debt collector letters and phone calls threatening me with summary warrant/ Sheriffs court) - eventually all sorted with help from CAB due to council being useless.

Nobody ever turned up at my door.

M&S shoppers buy it - whenever I was in M&S food section (which also sells newspapers) more people had a copy of the Daily Mail in their basket/ trolley than any other paper.

Fair point yes, it's a takeaway from a van, so probably not a fair comparison! Independent in Edinburgh centre with table service would be somewhere like Civerinos who are mostly £12 to £14 but also have a £20 option. Or not in centre, somewhere like Origano in Leith which is around £14 to £16.

Sounds reasonable to me at £27.50 a head. Upmarket pub in Newcastle charge £21.50 for Sunday roast, desserts mostly £9 then drinks on top of that - so easily close to £40 a head for similar Sunday lunch.

Depends what you get - cheapest on menu is Margherita at £13.75, the most expensive Pizzas on their menu are £20, yes. Although Pizza Express almost always have bogof offers or other discounts etc...maybe not at peak times though?

Local independents much cheaper and nicer however (eg £9 to £12).

It's great that people do voluntary work and would great if even more people did do it. But there are lots of perfectly reasonable practical reasons why people don't (time, family, health, work commitments, lack of local opportunities, lack of transport etc). Shouldn't be compulsory to do it!

Scottish household survey shows around 75% to 80% (depending on the survey year) of adult population don't do voluntary work - so basically saying you have to do something extra which the vast majority of population don't do.

Of course some of these same people will think it's perfectly fine for themselves personally or any other Brit to go and live in another country, because, reasons... (they are 'expats' not immigrants you see...)

Unless we literally rescue an orphan from a burning building or win a Nobel prize, whatever we do or whoever we are will never be enough for some people, because having been born in another country (not exactly a matter we had any say in anyway) and choosing to come & live here outweighs all else.
