Truthfully, I’m finding it harder and harder to stay polite. Noticed I’m driving more aggressively. You can’t survive here unless you become a little more cut throat. To be polite is to be pushed around and abused so folks just become Massholes. I hate how it’s made me sometimes.

What’s funny is NW Louisiana and SE Louisiana have vastly different accents so I took the same shit when I moved to St Tammany Parish in High School. People refused to believe I was from Louisiana because I had a “weird” accent.

I dunno man. I really don’t.
Folks tell me all the time how nice and polite I am and my kid is and they complain that everyone’s so rude and like…you can just not be a dick. It don’t cost anything.

But shit I saw a lady stop her car in a blind curve to take a phone call and you can’t fix that

Folks in Massachusetts will talk to you in a way that would get them legally knocked the fuck out in Louisiana or Texas as is. I can’t risk a confrontation. So I just go around as best I can and keep my mouth shut and stew in my hatred of these fucking people and this fucking place.

So here’s where I run into a problem…

My PTSD makes me dread any form of confrontation. I mean like petrified fear of an argument. I can’t say or do anything about it because I’m deathly afraid of what happens next.

There’s gotta be a way to convince these Yankees that they don’t have to live like this. Clearly they don’t like it either.

I’m gonna be honest, I avoid leaving the house on weekends because just driving to the place where the people treat me like shit is awful. These suburbs are TERRIBLE on the weekends. Whole town is almost unusable because all the train commuters are off work and taking their Mercedes for a spin.

You know I could kinda tolerate it if these Yankee fucks didn’t glare at me like I’m the problem. These Masshole Memaw’s are mean as fuck and it makes me wanna break a few hips.

Lot of people on our team act an ass at every opportunity and it’s honestly kinda shocking that users of Bluesky dot com, home of some of the rudest, most miserable motherfuckers on the planet, think rude behavior is exclusive to the other team.

The lady who did this to me today, pushed past me with her cart, glared at me like I was the problem, then blocked my exit with her cart, she was wearing “No Kings” merch.

Since the people in the thread here want to blame Covid deniers and Trump supporters for this rude behavior.

At least it’s not just me seeing this stuff.

Tell you what though I understand some feminist thought now that I’m a stay at home parent in the same way I understand microaggresions now that I live in a place where folks ask me “where are you from” at least three times a week for a decade.

I have been out in Massachusetts on a cold gray Sunday trying to run one small errand so I’m really not in the mood to log onto the rage machine and yet what else am I gonna do between folding clothes and cooking supper.

Really fuckin sucks watching ICE terrorize people in familiar places you recognize.

Especially sitting 2000 miles away in this shit ass 94% white suburb. I could do so much more if I was where I fucking belong instead of in this blue state surrounded by these “good” white people.

The style I like and the style that gets looks on Instagram aren’t the same. I recognize that and am cool with it.

I’m trying to go back in the next year or so. I wanna take my kid to Volcanoes National Park.

I’ve never made IG but I also steered the tattoos in a direction that wouldn’t work well for Instagram.

Massachusetts coyotes are wild too. They’re big as fuck. Three times the size of a mangy Texas coyote. They look like damn German Shepherds. Even the fuckin coyotes are rich up here.

Coyotes going absolutely apeshit might be a reason I haven’t been seeing any deer.

The only year I haven’t had a Christmas tree was when we got a new kitten. I even had one in my barracks room in the Army, decorated with beer caps and Copenhagen snuff lids.

I absolutely don’t get the love for a pop star but I gotta be honest, I don’t like pop music. Never have. Wasn’t into Madonna or Michael Jackson or Britney Spears. It’s not for me.

I get being into a band but yea the personal stuff is wild to me. And the absolute rabid way fans react to any type of criticism. I’m genuinely nervous having this conversation in public lest I be once again accused of misogyny.

If you go to New Orleans and you don’t eat any Vietnamese food you’re missing out.
