There were some really good prop and location choices. I remember the stuffed redfish mounted in Harrellsons house. It looked like my sergeants house. They did a good job making things look right.

What’s really funny is once you know the area they filmed most of that within like twenty blocks. It’s crazy what they managed sometimes. Best part of the show honestly was looking to see where they filmed.

All they had to do was ask me and I could fix it for them.

They could’ve kept all the tweaker biker stuff and had no problems with McCongoheys accent if they’d just written him as being from Monroe. It would even explain why he didn’t know Harrelson who clearly worked SE Louisiana.

Every bit of Rusts backstory was absolute bullshit. You don’t transfer between state polices on a whim, just move into homicide. They didn’t talk to a single cop before they wrote the undercover stuff.

I loved that they set some noir stuff in Louisiana which is just built for those kind of detective stories but man they didn’t even TALK to a cop for Rust’s back story. If they needed to hide McConaugheys accent they could’ve just made him from Monroe.

Yea everything but the ending was forgivable. Really well done visually. Rust could’ve been unbearable without McConaughey
