Yes I will!
RNLI crews are volunteers who willingly put their own lives on the line to save anyone in danger β€” no matter their background, nationality, or circumstance. Attacking them simply because some of the people they rescue are migrants is not just unfair, it’s disgraceful.

Well, my train to Salisbury at lunchtime was 10 minutes late because of a signal failure near Portsmouth. Almost certainly caused by rainbow-coloured insulation on the cables.

A mugshot registration photograph from Auschwitz. A man with a shaved head wearing a striped uniform photographed in three positions (profile and front with bare head and a photo with a slightly turned head with a hat on). The prisoner number is visible on a marking board on the left.

102 hits for me. Mostly scientific papers, but also 2 books. The book links are to the Internet Archive, which does not appear to contain the actual text. So although I am not happy that my work is being stolen, I’m not sure what is being used.

On R4’s Today the excellent @ciaranm.bsky.social took apart Musk’s claim Ukraine was behind a cyberattack that took down β€œX”. Also said it was shocking that a major online business could be vulnerable to something as crude as a Ddos. At least he has no access to sensitive government data - oh wait

Southampton High Street after a bombing raid.

Southampton High Street after a bombing raid.

On this day in 1940, the Luftwaffe inflicted upon Southampton the heaviest bombing raid of the town’s war so far. The bombers would return on 30 November and 1 December. These three night raids, with 1,600 bombs and 13,000 incendiaries, would change the face of Southampton forever.

Also, part of the reason we did bought InfoWars is because people on Bluesky told us it would be funny to buy InfoWars. And those people were right. This is the funniest thing that has ever happened.

Portrait commission: a young family who often visit South Norwood Lake. I'm from near to this park myself - my dad still goes boating here every Sunday. I spent along time looking through my own photos to research it.

I still have a **last few** portrait booking slots before Christmas - link in bio

Not nasty. Looks like an unopened parasol mushroom - edible and tasty. (But don't take any online advice about eating mushrooms. Photos can be deceptive.)

A reminder to my academic colleagues that the incoming freshman class was born in 2006 which means that they

-have not seen attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion
-don’t know how C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate
-All these moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain

I've been on a train that hit someone. I still remember the noise of something rattling underneath, though obviously I didn't know what it was at the time.
