Without a clearer sense of direction, Labour's doomed. So, by far the best thing that these two could do now would be to stop worrying about how best to become PM if and when Starmer eventually goes and instead think really, really hard about what they would do were they chosen to replace him.

McSweeney goes - but Josh Simons in the frame over targeting journalists Cabinet Office minister hired a PR firm to investigate journalists. His explanation is bewildering - and begs one big question. How can Starmer keep him on?

When he ran Labour Together, Cabinet Office minister Josh Simons hired a PR firm to investigate journalists

After our revelations, and a flurry of news stories, Simons finally gave his side of the story

But it doesn't seem to tally with the facts... 🧡

There's a [tax] 'pragmatist' about!
"the most radical simplification we could recommend would be to exempt the State Pension from tax in our view not a realistic option.[but] one cannot ignore the large hole in the public finances it would create"

Prescient, as ever.....but surely it's time to follow the 'Together' money?

"McSweeney’s .. job [was] electoral strategy, and ...I can see the rationale in mopping up as many voters as possible regardless of how racist or bigoted. But.. the Labour Party [is] β€œa moral crusade or it is nothing”.

The economic cost of Brexit has just been laid bare – and it’s devastating A decade on, the economic cost of Brexit has just been laid bare – and it’s devastating. Here's what the figures say.

"The economic cost of Brexit is no longer theoretical. It’s measurable, compounding – and devastating. Britain’s fastest-growing, most productive businesses before Brexit became the most damaged afterwards. Brexit punished the very companies that powered growth."

So Starmer, a man who never met Epstein but made a bad appointment, might resign. But Trump, his closest friend, fellow sex abuser and coverer-upper of his crimes, is going nowhere.

That’s how it works, isn’t it?

And the dreamscapes are the only place
I see you now and maybe that's for the best
cause even though it hurts the other path
would have wound around indefinitely

You felt alive for but the moment
which passed like our fleeting attunement
then proceeded to give me nothing at all
three strikes the charm I suppose

Incredible the gravity holding us firm
and how am I supposed to know myself?
These internal walls keeping us both out
I see the disassociation kicking in

And kindness was my downfall
seeing footsteps of the elite and yet
unable to follow them for the sake of
respecting rights for human dignity

Trying to protect my failing sanity
against global speak easy undergrounds
and emails that confirm it's all intended
where most conspiracies are true

All in all we're just plastic shaped
like terracotta breaking at our fractures
selling our time for pockets of peace
and foggy Sunday mornings

What? Sorry? Pardon?

The billionaire who prides himself on logistics when it comes to inanimate objects cannot get his own staff, who he has sent off to war zones to report on events around the world, safely home?

WTF.

I’d help support legal action so he can have the pants sued off him
