Someone you love could go into cardiac arrest, and you might be the one who needs to save their life. Nearly 70% of cardiac arrests happen outside of the hospital. Protect the hearts of those you care about by learning CPR. Find a class near you: http://redcross.org/take-a-class.

When 13.6 million Americans lose their Medicaid and can only go to the emergency room because they have no other options to access healthcare, who’s paying for it? The American taxpayer.

Speaking for all physicians and healthcare providers here. When we see patients in need of care especially in an emergency room we do not leave them for dead. We do not care about their immigration status, we treat them because that is what we took an oath to do and is also basic human decency.

Fun fact: Even if federal money *was* being spent on Medicaid coverage for undocumented immigrants (it isn’t), the money wouldn’t be β€œgoing to illegal aliens.”

It would be going to *healthcare providers*…ie, hospitals, doctors, etc.

Medicaid enrollees don’t receive the money.

Hey JD Vance.πŸ‘‹ You need to understand something. Physicians are never going to refuse emergency care to someone in an Emergency Department. No matter what you say behind that big boy podium.

We’re not like you.

We wake up every day to help people.

They have no clue what they are talking about and spreading these lies is monstrous. If I present to an Emergency department without proof of citizenship should they assume Im an illegal alien and not treat me until there is proof or will they treat me because I don’t have brown skin. Im disgusted

Hi hospitalist here! This makes me fucking sick to my stomach. How dare he blame the systemic problems with the US healthcare system on immigrants. It is a lie that is made worse by the fact that this administration has actively been attacking and destroying the American healthcare system themselves

01.10.2025 21:39 β€” πŸ‘ 81    πŸ” 16    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

ER doc here! This is a lie. Wait times are up because the American healthcare system is an unsustainable business model and a for-profit national healthcare system just doesn’t work. These problems will continue to get worse until we change that system. It literally has nothing to do with immigrants

This, and, let’s change our political economy(ies) so that the heat pumps and all the other big climate solutions are affordable, accessible, & desirable.

It’s about power, folks. 70% of Americans say they support more ambitious climate policy & action. climatecommunication.yale.edu/visualizatio...

Growing food crops under solar panels is called Agrivoltaics. Lots of crops benefit from growing underneath them. I know in Maine they were piloting wild blueberries, and in Massachusetts cranberries. You can also graze animals like sheep or if you mount them high cows (not goats - they climb)

The Trump administration is moving aggressively to privatize the VA β€” arbitrarily laying off employees, lowering the quality of, and limiting access to, health care that veterans receive.

Unacceptable. We must stand with veterans and oppose all efforts to privatize the VA.

Routine renal ultrasounds for all AKIs. Definitely need to rule out obstruction but should be doing this judiciously

πŸ’¬ Viewpoint: Safeguarding pathways for non-US international medical graduates (IMGs) is essential to addressing physician shortages and ensuring health care access in underserved regions.

These attacks on vaccines, tylenol, fluoridation of water, masks, etc is to keep everyone so distracted that nobody has the energy to ask

- why are so many lacking access to medical care?
- why is gun violence #1 cause of death in kids?
- why is life expectancy falling?
- why are meds unaffordable?

Indeed, untreated fever in pregnancy is linked to miscarriage, birth defects, and preterm birth. Unmanaged pain in pregnancy is linked to high blood pressure, anxiety, and depression which are all bad for both mom and baby.

So yes, β€œtoughing it out” and avoiding meds in pregnancy is dangerous.

Celebrating the fifth anniversary of installing solar panels on our church. We produce as much power as is used in 5 homes each year, save money, and provide clean power at a discount to a non-profit partner through community solar. So much winning!

We need the government to clearly state that the doctors are the exempt from this rule. Every year, several thousands of new H1B are required for physicians, particularly for those working for rural areas.

New Trump EO increases fee from $1,000 to $100,000 per year for H1B visas?? Aimed at tech companies hiring cheaper trained people.
However, this is going to be extremely disruptive to residency training programs and hospitals. Hope someone clues him in.

If I could just summarize 1 sentence from the new National Academy of Sciences study on climate, boldface, flashing red, it would be:

"the evidence for current and future harm to human health and welfare created by human-caused GHGs is beyond scientific dispute."

BEYOND SCIENTIFIC DISPUTE

Meeting people's needs actually *saves* money in the long run.

It's the right thing to do and the fiscally responsible thing to do to care for our communities and neighbors in ways like this.

This says so much about Covid and influenza.

They know-thanks to their actuaries-that it’s far, FAR better to prevent illness than to deal with the complications.

None of the new appointees to the CDC vaccine panel have expertise in vaccines. The only difference between these people and Caligula’s horse is that the horse wasn’t an antivaxxer.

I just saw a patient with liver cancer from hepatitis B that was acquired at birth. Vaccination would’ve prevented it.

There’s been a 99% reduction in annual childhood hep B infections since 1991 thanks to universal birth dose vaccination. We can’t afford to roll back that progress.
