I don't get it. If you look at the litter... Lots of litter on the trails beside the highway. Very little litter in the interior. If it's cigarette butts they're worried about, they're restricting the wrong traffic

Is it reasonable collect dishwater, or washing machine rinse water to water plants/ trees/ veg garden?

The Heroclips go in front and back, (medium size seems to be perfect) with a bit of wiggle room for a larger tire. A simple strap & carabiner combo for the middle as a third point of contact.

Adam! That's his name!! We were biking one way and he the other yesterday. I yelled "see you tomorrow!". He responds in kind. Kid asks who that was. I didn't know.. he's "bike friend". The name tags today were such a good idea

A street tree planted a year ago. Some small new growth. Lots of bare limbs. Tree is leaning over the sidewalk

I knew I had a picture at a crazy angle. This was from my 311 email in June 2020 (one year planted). I contacted 311 three or four times about the tree

Today I stood in the 1.5 sidewalk blocks of shade it now creates. The tree is still at an odd angle. But I'm so proud of the little tree who could

Then in September Dorain came through and partially uprooted it. We put it back as best we could and called 311. Nobody came.

Then in the winter the sidewalk plow knocked off a main limb because it was still at an angle significantly overhanging the sidewalk. We called 311. Nobody came.

The next month saw our tree got worse and worse. It was clearly the worst looking tree on the street. A couple times a week I dribbled a dehumidifier bucket of water on it. Anything faster would run off.

A sentimental 🧵: We got a street tree late June 2019. The trees were dropped off, then planted the following day. I remember noting that our tree's thickest root jutted out sideways, not down into the root ball, and was lopped off short.
