Day 5 of posting footage of federal officers from ICE assaulting a pastor who was peacefully doing ministry at the Detention Center in Broadview, IL. Still waiting for @dhsgov and @kristinoem to apologize. This video shows ICE officers shoving me and sprayed me in the face with a large quantity of chemical weapons. I was standing there incapacitated and vulnerable from a barrage of chemical pellets they had shot me with moments earlier. ICE gave no orders or warnings. All around me, they were slamming peaceful protesters into fences and into the ground, and moving in formation to isolate and assault anyone who was vulnerable. All of this happened less than two minutes after they shot me seven times on the head, gave, and body with exploding near-lethal chemical pellets. I am experiencing persistent respiratory issues several weeks later. This is how the Trump administration treats the public witness of Christian faith. This and worse has been happening every day in Broadview. I want to give honor to the unbelievably heroic people who are standing with me here, on and off camer. I believe a better world is not only possible, it is here, and they are its people. Come stand shoulder to shoulder with the people who are reclaiming human dignity and proclaiming liberation in the face of evil itself. Glory to God for these people and the Love that keeps bringing us back to shout down these gates of hell. @rev.davidblack
