The prior corps were real shit.

A polished turd is pretty good against an unpolished turd, but it's still a turd.

I'll give them some kudos for that but comparison to similar systems would be more beneficial.
ST has been taken for a ride by matienance corps historically and can't simply be taken at their words.

::movie trailer voice:: They said he was retired, but Bill Kristol has one more regime to change...

Something else that's interesting, at least in Virginia: We don't see big swings left in places where turnout bottomed out last year, relative to 2020. In other words: These probably aren't just a bunch of Democrats who sat out last fall that pushed things left this week.

Any Sound Board members that are taking these numbers at face value are dupes being taken for a ride and are too incompetent to be on there.

No reasonable person should expect somehow ST users are harder on facilities than any other metro rider.

If the numbers are comparable than why isn't there a comprehensive plan to predict, anticipate, and prevent or better respond?
If the numbers are not than they're bullshitting and should be investigated for fraud and preach of contract.

How do these numbers compare with other metro systems of comparable size and use?

If it did it would incentivize prosecutors and cops to try only stronger cases.

Why doesn't double jeopardy apply ro grand juries? I'm sure the answer is some court case and/or based in English common law but what's the logic behind it?

If in '28 or '32 everything looks like it did in the turn of the century then the last twenty-ish years was just a backlash against establishment pols regarding all the mistakes from GWB's reign.

If the Never Trumpers stay away from the brand and if the formally low propensity voters stay engaged then we are definitely in a realignment.

It's kind of a Heisenberg issue. We won't know if we're in a realignment until after everyone's been reshuffled.

That and not voting is voting. Either "they're both bastards" or "my vote doesn't matter".

While US venture capitalists were buying monkey jpegs, and DOGE coins, and figuring out how to get Black women fired, and tweeting about white birthrates, and trying to mandate which bathroom trans kids should use, China was making progress on climate change and taking the lead in a real industry.

As a white man, I hate AI for appropriating my culture of being confidently wrong about things while using Reddit as a primary source.

I think a lot about the story Carl Reiner told: he’d have been a sewing machine repairman if not for a free WPA drama class. That led to other theater work, to Sid Caesar, to Mel Brooks, and all the rest. All because of one free class paid for by a government that felt the arts were worth teaching.

That doesn't pass the sniff test.
These numbers need to be audited.

And also every single county in Virginia shifted blue, two statewide posts in Georgia went blue (for the first time in two decades), three Pennsylvania judicial races went blue, a Maine vote went blue, a Mississippi state senate seat went blue ....

Why'd you choose '12 to compare against?
I'd think '08 or '16 or or '17 would be natural benchmarks.

When polled a plurality respond they don’t know enough about the issues or candidates, and they don’t want to (or can’t) take the time to learn more.

When people *do* vote, it signals that they’re activated by some core issue.
