Everyone needs to take a good hard look at the demographics of everyone writing think pieces and theses and breathless social media posts about how our current situation couldn’t have been predicted in full.

Because the demographics are glaring.

Absolutely disappointing reaction and response. In an area with a history of extremist paramilitary activity it is *critically* important for the City and Mayor to actively protect the citizenry from violent, unidentified thugs.

Deeply wrong call.

Call the cargo service department of your airline. The rates can be very good, because it isn't "last mile" service — you'll drop off and pick up in the industrial area around the airport.

We used to ship bass drums and sousaphones this way for bowl games, it works well.

Will Stripe let you up that unit quantity by chance?

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

East Coast peeps, you can improve indoor air quality during a wildfire by increasing the humidity:

• damp wipe/mop surfaces
• add 1" of water to sinks/tubs or bowls set around your space; change every few hours
• boil water in a wide vessel to create steam (I use a roasting pan)
