If you have skin on bone in thighs and a cast iron, you can just salt the chicken, oil & preheat skillet med-high. Preheat oven to ~375. Sear chicken skin-down on skillet for 3-5 min add pepper on top, then transfer the whole thing to the oven for ~13 minutes or until it's done (thermometer ideally)
