I’ve also known people who commute from San Francisco to Stanford to save on rent, lol. Oakland and Berkeley would only be 15 or so more minutes by BART.

Try looking in the East Bay, there’s a bridge that connects Hayward or somewhere to SV I think.

I mean, I think technically once you’re in, you can move provinces pretty easily. Learning French would be fun too.

BC actually is one of the provinces but I’m somehow guessing Vancouver isn’t lacking in healthcare personnel…

I think I was mildly put off by the typesetting, which seemed like a lackluster gimmick or at least didn’t add much for me. I did enjoy the suspense of the first half of the book, I remember, though, so I’d be willing to try again. I remember it being expensive in the 00s lol but maybe library

Some Canadian provinces are actively recruiting immigrants of my particular profession, which I would be able to take up in a year. I have to admit though, the only place in Canada which pulls me is MontrΓ©al (though I’ve never been)

You’ve made me reconsider a book I did not particularly care for the first time I read it years ago. Maybe I missed some things…

I'm aware, but thank you--I just used 10/7 as a point of reference to establish that its use has been ubiquitous for a number of years now.

People have been using watermelons since 2023, and I just noticed that the contention is that the date on the flyer is MLK Jr. That coincidence actually makes reinforcing said historical memory for this specious reason a bit racist in itself, tbh; even more so if to score points by doing so.

Those prohibitions are long gone, and I personally think the watermelons now serve to diminish the symbolism of Palestine as a nation when supplanted by the flag.

However, it’s totally absurd to tie it to the racist symbolism it has only in North America. There are Black Palestinians as well, yk.

It’s a callback to when β€œIsrael” forbade the Palestinian nationally banner, during which Palestinians adorned the colors of the flag in a variety of creative forms (watermelons being one.)

People post rooms for rent here on the west side for like $1600-$2000 lol, although it wasn’t too long ago that I would never dream of renting a room for any number with 4 digits

I think Louis Armstrong or something used to love taking laxatives recreationally, and was even featured in a number of magazine ads selling them. I get it
