History of US-Iran relations: From the 1953 regime change to Trump strikes Iran remains the US’s adversary in the Middle East since the 1979 Islamic revolution led by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

esp if you are younger than me and weren't around for the first orchestration of this stuff, you should go over this timeline. it won't take but a minute and it's clear & not an op-ed: it's just an explainer. www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/6/...

screenshot from an online job application form. the question reads "Can you describe specific ways you have integrated AI tools into your development workflow? Please include any custom setups, automations, or use cases beyond single prompt usage" (a red asterisk indicates that this is a required question).

an answer has been typed in the textbox below the question:

"there is a monster in the forest and it speaks with a thousand voices. it will answer any question you pose it, it will offer insight to any idea. it will help you, it will thank you, it will never bid you leave. it will even tell you of the darkest arts, if you know precisely how to ask.

it feels no joy and no sorrow, it knows no right and no wrong. it knows not truth from lie, though it speaks them all the same.

it offers its services freely to any passerby, and many will tell you they find great value in its conversation. β€œyou simply must visit the monsterβ€”i always just ask the monster.”

there are those who know these forests well; they will tell you that freely offered doesn’t mean it has no price

for when the next traveler passes by, the monster speaks with a thousand and one voices. and when you dream you see the monster; the monster wears your face."

A screenshot from a court filing reads, in part:

"Julio Noriega is 54 years old, was born in Chicago, and is a U.S. citizen.

On January 31, 2025, he was walking near the corner of Cermak Road and Harlem Avenue in Berwyn, Illinois, handing out his resume to local businesses.

As he walked out of a Jiffy Lube, he was approached by ICE officers who grabbed and handcuffed him and put him into a van, without an opportunity to explain his citizenship.

The officers drove Julio and others around for more than an hour before bringing him to an ICE processing center, where he remained, still handcuffed, for several more hours.

All the while, Julio had a wallet containing identification that ICE had confiscated.

The officers never showed Julio a warrant, and they did not ask him any questions to ascertain whether he was a noncitizen or a flight risk.

After about 10 hours, ICE officers reviewed the contents of Julio’s
wallet, realized he was a U.S. citizen, and released him with no money and no paperwork."

I think it has more to do with you might get locked up for absolutely no reason at all and then flown to El Salvador to die in prison even though a judge said you should be released

β€˜The Interview’: Chuck Schumer on Democrats, Antisemitism and His Shutdown Retreat The Senate minority leader discusses the backlash to his vote on the Republican spending bill, how he sees his role within the party and his new book.

In this interview Schumer says he agrees with Trump’s decision to pull $400 million from Columbia. A university in his own state. And he’s unconcerned about the unlawful arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, one of his constituents.

He is a traitor who needs to resign.

It was always and continues to always be about eugenics. RFK Jr does not say he wants to cure chronic diseases, he says he wants people who don't have chronic diseases. That's different.

It's been hard to keep up but we tried to put Trump's use of executive orders into context. The audience in mind as I wrote this are folks who are trying to understand what's going on, and need a foothold. Hope you'll read and share w friends/family/your students:

My go-to example of this is that Einstein’s work on understanding gravity is required for maps on your phone to work. But the important point is that there are indeed many such cases.

If nothing else, finally a death to the Democratic party I’ve known my whole life, that couldn’t tell the simple truth, that wouldn’t call a thing by its name or talk about the reality in front of its face. Good riddance to them all. May this final failure bring something worthy & powerful instead.

According to years of research we've done, there is actually no such thing as a "TikTok trend," and there never was. American elites were given a glimpse of what modern America looks and sounds like and it scared them so bad they went insane.

I wanted to see what my uni's line on Gen AI is so I attended a library workshop on the topic. It was run well & outlined all the ways in which it's worse than useless for research. AND YET they stated that my uni has a contract with Microsoft for Copilot, so here are the ways to use it.

in 1968, the only signs of life found in the Cuyahoga River, according to a water quality survey of 23 different sites, were two solitary fish. at a single sample location: a bluegill, and a goldfish.

today, more than 70 different species call the Cuyahoga River home.
