I also think the apps and their user bases have gotten appreciably worse than they were when online dating first started becoming a thing. People put more effort into it when it was new that that they don’t now.

Could be a YMMV and locality specific thing to some extent. I did not have much luck meeting people in gay bars and other physical spaces 15-20 years ago and generally had better luck online. But I was also living in a city known for being standoffish and socially cold.

My best guess is it’s some combo of observing identity-based insults at white guys from “left” randos and internalizing scoldy BLM-era discourse. And then you have people like Scott Galloway who have made a career out of talking about it.

I don’t know what discourse he’s talking about but it feels some of this generalized social media meanness interpreted as gender based targeting.

America is suffering through an era of rule by jerks who are now inflicting their jerkiness on everyone because they have enough power that we can't ignore or walk away from them anymore.

I was referring to the secret money accusations specifically. As you said, he posts a lot so I can’t definitively say what else he’s posted on the midterms that gave OP that impression.

But you did come with receipts on that so OP very well could be lying if there’s nothing there to back that up.

Like I said, my own personal interactions with him on Bluesky have been entirely negative. And then there’s him speaking at Welcomefest. That and the takes that get posted on here from X are just reinforcement of what I already thought of him.

I don’t know if they are lying, I haven’t seen definitive evidence to say either way.

What I will say is that what posting I have seen from him over the last 6 months, including my own personal interactions, have been pretty disappointing so I sympathize with the frustration.
