I am SO tired of having to look on the bright side of so many things in my life.

I was 10 when it finally clicked into my head that my body was growing into a man’s body.
I never felt right as a boy, but becoming an adult man horrified me every bit as it’d horrify a cis girl to know she was becoming a man.
That was 1985.
No one talked to me about trans ppl.
I just knew myself.

Hahaha! Truth.

It just feels people have been sorted into silo and they can’t enjoy more than one thing. For example, it feels like you can’t just like to play D&D occasionally; it has to be the only thing you do with your free time.
It’s just seems like it’s hard to find people with a variety of interests.

When did we stop aspiring to be well-rounded?

I was active on so many apps for years, and only ever got two matches. Even paid for them.
Someone pointed out that their whole business model is stringing people along for as long as they can.
The whole thing is a grift.

So many trans folks lock themselves away from society and just rot away, because they don’t understand this, and that “passing” isn’t so much what you look like, but the energy you put out.

The key in all of this is finding a therapist who challenges our perceptions.
If you walk out of a session where your therapist just nodded along, then you’re not being challenged, and then not growing.
That’s been my take over the past 40 years of being in and out of therapy anyway.

It can also help to teach you how to change how you interact with the sources your problems.
Yes, a lot of things are out of our control, but we are 100% in control of how we feel about those things. It can point out the moments where we cede our power to external forces. ⬇️

Therapy works when you find the emotional sore spots. The questions your therapist asks that make immediately respond without introspection. Not necessarily a negative reaction, but almost like your brain has had that answer in the chamber. ⬇️
