Another cis feminist for trans rights. She/her. Not quite a crone. Bad-faith arguments get you muted, slurs get you blocked. I repost a lot of geekery, some of it NSFW. https://linktr.ee/shiftercat

Jones knocks out a Bookhouse Boy with a single, efficient chop to the neck. She's still in her widow-like garments, but not for long: she strips down to a slip, then lies down next to Harry, out of frame.

Even the Georgians and Victorians, those infamously brutal eras with too much of a penchant for capital punishment, didnโt execute smugglers without a trial, and mostly didnโt execute with one. (Transportation or impressment was more common.)
This is horrific and exactly what those of us in Black studies, gender studies, womenโs studies have been warning our colleagues in the sciences about. Their seeming neutrality will not save them.
07.12.2025 05:13 โ ๐ 926 ๐ 352 ๐ฌ 8 ๐ 4Well-dressed idiots run around screaming. Audrey takes the stage and does the always-effective thing of telling everyone not to panic, but is shoved off by one of the dumber models.
She lands right in Jack's arms, and charm or not, that DEFINITELY feels forced.
The adorable "pine weasel" squirms towards Dick.
"...It is also attracted to, believe it or not, very cheap cologne!"

The pine weasel does something many of us have wanted to do since Dick was introduced: it bites him on the nose.
The environmental expert takes the stage and, perhaps realizing that he has a negative Charisma adjustment, brings out a live pine weasel.
The part of the fictional pine weasel is played by a ferret. Presumably those can be trained, though my experience with ferrets suggests otherwise.
Ben is at the bar, dunking a cookie into a glass of milk. Catherine swans over with a champagne flute.
He talks about how he's discovered there's more to life than riches, and she tells him to level with her about his real motives.
They laugh heartily, but it's unclear if they share the same joke.
Fashion show! The height of Twin Peaks couture is apparently... plaid. With occasional polka dots. And, naturally, plenty of warm red.
Lucy spins more times than is strictly necessary, while Andy walks out awkwardly and stares at the audience like a deer in headlights.
Mike, if you are in disguise as an adult, getting a honeymoon suite for you and your "wife", and someone from your high school spots you and asks if that's you?
Say, "No," and hurry on as fast as possible.
Hawk and Cooper put Truman to bed, and discuss his state in low tones.
Hawk: "A good man."
Cooper: "The best."
Truman, not actually asleep: "Keep going."

Trouble at the Bookhouse, where Harry's downward trajectory has hit bottom. He's sitting on a pile of broken furniture, a bottle in one hand, his gun in the other.
Cooper gently talks him down.

*ding* Hugging!

Cooper is immediately and obviously smitten with Annie, which of course Earle notices.
Cooper spots a self-inflicted scar on Annie's wrist. He makes no comment on it, but when he tells her that the coffee she made is perfect, his smile is warm and reassuring.
And here's Cooper, at the other end of the... I'm going to keep calling it a bar. He's so preoccupied with his book on Tibet that at first he doesn't notice he's being served by someone new.
Annie is determined to earn room and board at her sister's, so she's waitressing.
Windom Earle is in his best costume yet, as a shaggy-haired biker with a Southern drawl. He's even applied temporary tattoos.
He, of course, encourages Shelly to compete in the pageant.
Ooh, the Miss Twin Peaks beauty pageant! Norma urges Shelly to join. Shelly makes a joke of it, grabbing up a spoon as a microphone and doing a baby-voiced bit about world peace.
We've seen Shelly do little improv comedy bits before; another reason diner patrons love her.
Donna rushes for the door when the bell rings, but her mother gets there first. She looks shaken as she opens the door, but it's the less sinister figure of Ben Horne. His manner, as he whispers in her ear, is a bit intimate.
I thought Eileen Hayward had more standards...
Ed's attempts to discuss divorce with Nadine are stymied her inability to understand that they're legally married.
He's about as impatient as I am for her to get back to her right mind, but Dr. Jacoby assures him that this can only happen "when she feels safe".
Now, I am not part of the chess-playing community, but I get the impression that Windom Earle would be notorious for "psychologically gaming" his opponents in tournaments, doing all kinds of things to unnerve them while staying juuuuust shy of anything that would get him thrown out.

The phone number proves to be a cemetery, and the gift is a black chess knight with a "Knight to Bishop 3" note.
There's one of those "cute but genuine" moments when Audrey feeds Jack an apple, and he clearly doesn't know what to do with his hands while biting into it.
Romantic gestures don't always turn out all that well in a practical sense.
At the picnic, Jack asks Audrey if there's another guy in her life, and she tells him there isn't anymore.
Apparently Kyle MacLachlan balked at the idea of Agent Cooper getting romantically involved with a high-schooler, to which I say: good for him.
All three of them, the Log Lady says, have had experiences involving vanishings, a bright light, and the call of an owl.
One of hers was just before her husband died by fire.
The men contemplate the blackboard, while the Log Lady puts a soothing hand on her log.
Andy and Lucy's chess match is interrupted by the arrival of the Log Lady and Major Briggs.
The Log Lady has, not an identical scar, but a similar one on her leg.
Instead of three triangles, it's two slightly jagged ones.
Kind of like this, but a mirrored pair: nerdykeppie.com/products/fix...
A note about the makeup: in S2E13, during the sting at Dead Dog Farm, Cooper got a nasty blow to the face. Since then, he's had a large bruise and cut on his cheekbone. Over the course of the last four episodes, that's been fading; it's now a thin scab.
Kudos for continuity!
Cooper gives some insight about his enemy: "Windom Earle's genius carries with it the vice of impatience. He doesn't want pawns, he wants royalty. Protect those, particularly the queen, and we can frustrate him."
07.12.2025 04:39 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Pete has set up several chessboards in a small room, and is moving between each one by crawling under the tables.
Even in the best possible stalemate game, he tells Cooper, losing some pieces is inevitable.
Last time we saw the Haywards' living room from this angle, Killer Bob was closing in on Maddy. ๐ฑ
This time, a more corporeal evil engages Donna in friendly small-talk before handing her a gift for her father, and a slip of paper with a phone number.
