Carved in Stone is a comprehensive setting guide for early medieval Pictish society, and as such my work on it was wide and varied and included illustrating real artifacts, speculative penannular brooch designs, and even the animals that would have inhabited their world.

Ben is sitting next to them with his hands clasped in his lap and asks "so, how do you feel about it." in the next panel Blue Jay responds and says "Well I totally don't look like my day right now." a break in the speech bubble to show a pause "but it's weird, I don't feel like it's me either." the next panel is Ben looking pensive and exhaling. a panel later he says "Pants?!" a though suggesting this could be the answer to gender dysphoria. the bottom panel is the top half of Blue Jay and Ben's heads as they look conspiratorial. Blue Jay says "you know what, yeah. Maybe a more practical skirt. I think the fanciness is what's got me." Ben responds "good! because I am not doing your makeup every day!"

Miniature bear hand-knitted of pale yellow embroidery cotton in a very fine guage of 20 stitches per inch/8 stitches per cm. The face is hand embroidered and the neck tie is tatted with green sewing thread. I have to make it clear, the way it's shot makes it look like a little evil imp.

This miniature teddy bear was handknit by Betty J. Halpin, aged 94, and it is the smallest knitted object in the V&A’s collection. I have to say, the photo composition does make it look like a wee evil imp.
