11.12.2025 16:51 β π 2494 π 897 π¬ 128 π 164I think this is right. Itβs like when a family has decided to tolerate an abusive drunk. They know what heβs like and theyβve priced it into their decisions and they donβt want to hear you talk about it.

I understand fears people have here about β we canβt have another Fettermanβ but it appears the main way to avoid that beyond anything else ideological or practical is checking for out of control mental illness that alienates all reasonable friends and also brain damage

also isn't orthopedics a notoriously high priced specialty?
I also love how he frames himself like a smart businessman focused on reality, and starts throwing around claims without any supporting evidence.
He's a billionaire, they don't have the ability to percieve the world properly
Ohioβs private school sector is blossoming, thanks to voucher expansion
Of all the terrible ideas... Toledo Public Schools is considering a four-day week. This is a TERRIBLE move for rural schools, but at least you can understand the argument wrt long bus rides. But an urban district? Despicable!

One of the reasons these scams persist is because victims feel guilty about falling for them, so I don't want to hear any "lol this is so obvious" stuff. These emails are written in perfect english and something approximating my voice. As far as I know it hasn't worked yet but no shame if it did!

There is so much other data too. It pisses me off to no end to see an academic who should know better, an associate professor of public policy, misrepresent the evidence, to try to convince people to fall for the lie that "well actually, if everyone had basic needs money, crime wouldn't go down."

This is why we can't have nice things. We all already know that poverty, insecurity, and inequality contribute to crime, BECAUSE OF COURSE IT DOES. The Finland pilot compared a group given unemployment benefits income to a group provided the same amount of basic income. Why expect less crime?
