This is why it’s so bad that they squish TV/film credits into an unreadable little box next to an advert on streamers. It was a little bit of media education to not just read people’s names and make connections between shows, but also to read the names of cool sounding jobs.

I think most likely the latter but as people lost sight of the term’s origins they may also have liked the cutesy/diminutive feel of ‘icle’.

What I didn’t know until today is that the US ice lolly that is a ‘popsicle’ is essentially a ‘lollipop icicle’.
