A potential perk of an AB teacher's strike? It might help make this winter's spread of disease a bit slower.

05.10.2025 10:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't know if this is just limited to children. It's alarming that they found damage in every case (even with limited sample size of 21).
Blood vessel damage & cardiovascular impacts are well known to affect adults too.
Governments have failed everyone.
Thanks!
05.10.2025 08:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wait- in Alberta?
How did you book your appointment?
I should be eligible for one (based on criteria they linked to) but had heard booking online if not meeting age requirement wasn't possible.
A very interesting study about immune response to the vax

The mother got measles while pregnant & went into pre-term labour (a known complication of measles during pregnancy).
Almost like what he said while campaigning were lies.

A Covid shot when it's recommended ppl get 1 every 6mths & make them go to a public health clinic with extremely limited hours. They wait until group 2 to book (Oct 20th the earliest), while Covid cases are already rising.
Oh, & made sure the vast majority of the kids won't be getting the vax either
I mean... the RCMP opened an investigation into Kenny's leadership campaign... any day now

To the point it's uncomfortable. Like they hold ableist, capitalist views. I just don't know how else to interpret it.
Cancer care isn't okay. Hasn't been for a while. At least in Edmonton.
There's been a few families come forward to the media. Patients who died waiting for an oncologist.
Oh, not to worry, the AB govt is still spending those tax revenues. Just to private surgeries that cost twice as much, only take the lowest risk patients, and only operate at half capacity of public centres.

I have NO idea. My pharmacy at least lets me know when I fill my prescription that's how it was, so I can call the dr's office. When I asked he said outright that he forgot to change that for me.
I don't actually have a lot of meds with refills, which at least means I can request them whenever.
Nope, not restricted medication at all. Just normal routine medications.
My dr can change it but he has to remember to do so because the computer system defaults to making the patient run out before a refill can be issued.
There are plenty of things that could completely halt digital communications. A functional postal system is critical infrastructure.

In 2013, former Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper tried to introduce community mailboxes across the country and end door-to-door delivery but was met with much opposition from the public."
25.09.2025 21:19 β π 17 π 5 π¬ 1 π 0Cutting Canada Post's budget a ridiculous plan. It was to ensure every single Canadian had access to mail services, even if it's not profitable to deliver there. It's especially important where services are run at a loss.
...and physical mail is still a critical service.
Reminder: when Canada Post was on strike, it was not possible for me to send out items for my biz. It was also not possible for me to buy from many Canadian businesses because couriers donβt want to serve the North. This is a step towards privatizing something that should be a service to Canadians.

I really don't get the point of SUVs. Less payload than a car, gas mileage/ turning radius/size of a truck. Congrats.
We subsidize fossil fuels, we can subsidize our public service called Canada Post.

26.09.2025 06:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just check your privilege. It's not an option for a lot of situations.
26.09.2025 06:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Given I can't even refill my prescription earlier than my last dose (it's not restricted in any way, just the way my dr's office computer system defaults prescriptions with renewals)... ppl really need to learn about how these systems work before commenting.
26.09.2025 05:58 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Getting used furniture requires a truck to move. Flat-packed Ikea bookshelves, entertainment centers, dressers & chairs are all things I have transported home in my car.
It also assumes there is reasonably priced used furniture in your area (there isn't in mine- Ikea was less than used stuff).
I called on the π¨π¦ govt to guarantee, no-cost access to COVID-19 vaccines, including for every child under 12.
Under the Canada Health Act, every Canadian deserves equal access to care no matter where they live, or how badly their provincial govβt ignores science, health guidelines & their citizens.
