They used to say that Lichfield literally meant 'Field of the Dead', but there's no evidence for that, which is a shame.

Somebody drew me a stylized picture of the pair; Leoric was somewhat overweight and haggard but you could see the man he used to be, drinking and eating as he dealt with the horrors of his past. Gull was short and quiet as she didn't want people to now who she really was.

I must find it.

I've already got 17k words into a novel, but I think it'd make a great TV show.

One day I'll write about my 'Leoric & Gull' idea, set in the 12th Century in my home city of Lichfield. A world-weary soldier joins with the last of Elvenkind, travelling England investigating the supernatural as Christendom drives out the last of the Pagan ways.

It's Supernatural meets Cadfael.

It's the kind of project I need to work on with people steeped in Welsh and Danish folklore, speakers and scholars versed in the lore and cultural history of the nations, otherwise it's just a fantasy TTRPG with recognisable window dressing.

It means nothing without depth, and I don't have that.

I was working on a TTRPG in which Britons were defending from Danes and Saxons, who had invaded with allies from their myth and folklore. The Britons, after being pushed back to Wales, discarded Christianity, took the help of their own folklore and pushed back.

Sadly, the project fizzled out.

I need to see the Markiplier movie 'Iron Lung'. It sounds like a great story concept and I'm always fascinated to see how low-budget indie filmmakers handle it.

Glad to - I've played lots of games in this period and I'm excited to see where you go with it.

This looks awesome, and it's one of my favourite periods of history.

I'm really enjoying 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' but I'm really struggling with these half-hour episodes. I think I'd have preferred longer episodes with a shorter season.

In 2008 I wrote a TTRPG called 'The 13th Year'. Set in 1952, it was about WW2 leading to global atomic war because the Manhattan Project actually created an alternate reality, and every bomb dropped since created more.

It was an alternative history post-apocalyptic RPG, and I want to redo it.

Even now she'll sit for a while, but the more muted colours of Deep Space 9 don't really do anything for her, although she was super attentive when they were travelling the wormhole.

Ever since she was a kitten, Jones enjoyed watching 90s Star Trek with us. I think it was the bright uniform colours flashing across the screen, she'd follow anyone in red especially.

Someone just called England "Occupied East Wales" and that's what I'm calling it from now on.

When I'm about to make an important roll I roll the dice between the flats of my hands until I feel it's covered my palms and then let it drop.

If I feel a die isn't working for me I change the set, not just the one die, in case it's negativity has infected the other dice.

I'm going to grab the Fallout New Vegas bundle, too.
