I was wondering why a single screen would be its own OS rather than having them each be processes in a single OS. But this demonstrates a robust setup where one errant process won’t take down the whole slurpee machine.

I can’t believe the Supreme Court just ruled that the president can sleep outdoors in a public space.

A program with this design cannot possibly constitute government speech. The City did nothing to indicate an intent to communicate a message. Clark, 468 U. S., at 294, 104 S. Ct. 3065, 82 L. Ed. 2d 221. Nor did it deputize private speakers or appropriate private-party expressive content. The flags flown reflected a dizzying and contradictory array of perspectives that cannot be understood to express the message of a single speaker. For example, the City allowed parties to fly the gay pride flag, App. to Pet. for Cert. 142a, but it allowed others to fly the flag of Ethiopia, id., at 174a, a country in which “homosexual act[s]” are punishable by “imprisonment for not less than one year.” The Crim. Code of Fed. Democratic Republic of Eth. 2004, Arts. 629 and 630, Proclamation No. 414/2004. Indeed, the City disclaimed virtually all messages expressed by characterizing the flagpoles as a “public forum” and adopting access criteria consistent with generalized public use. It sure would be comical if Samuel Alito had recently published an opinion in which he expressed strong feelings about flags and wrote that passersby viewing a flag flying over a building would naturally assume the flag conveys some message on the owner's behalf

I was not a “Linux person” until I bought a used cheap new-for-me work laptop from Free Geek (Portland, OR). It came with Linux Mint pre loaded and it fucking works. Now I’m getting exposed to free open source software and also learning about how my computer works and it rules.

As a new Linux user, I’m happy as fuck using Linux Mint OS on my daily laptop. One of my favorite things about transitioning from Mac and Windows has been finding out about all the free and open source software that effectively frees me from pay-to-play workflows that I’ve previously been in.
