Hosted a dinner last night with cubanos and coffee-infused flan. Please enjoy homemade Cuban rolls and mojo pork (courtesy of my perfect spouse) and the final result:

So fun update, my tattoo artist uses second skin(?) to initially protect the tat, and I recently removed it after the recommended time. It hurt so SO badly to remove, like, worse than getting the tattoo. Look at the bruise it left on my thigh!!

I've reread both books a number of times. His ability to create an alienish, earth-adjacent, and real- feeling world felt so effortless. A proper talent.

...but I must admit I hate beans in chili. I love beans! Just keep it out if my chili, it makes the dish suck

This actually a fun history lesson. Chili, just being the chilis used to make the sauce + some meat, made a easy common meal for Mexican and Texan cowboys. And the "no beans" thing is really just how it's cooked - it is traditional to cook beans separately and serve on the side!

Karin's left thigh. There is a massive black linework Japanese dragon tattooed from just below the 3/4 outside of her hip to midway down the front of her calf, with the tail wrapping around the knee.
