SLIDE 4: Disabled people face the brunt of this emerging stigma. Many of us never stopped wearing medical-grade masks after being introduced to them in 2020. Some of s are disabled in ways where catching any serious infection, even the flu, could kill us. Associating all masks with evil is like associating our canes, braces, and wheelchairs with evil. →

Also, when I say "out of bed " I do mean "conscious" so again, you are asking me to use my 2-4 hrs of consciousness a day on something nonlocal while my friends & neighbors are being abducted, tear gassed, starved, evicted, and released naked into the woods around the federal detainment center?

You are asking me to do *something* with my limited time and energy. Right now all my time &energy is focused locally, towards my city. I can focus on nothing else. Me/CFS also causes cognitive ability &energy deficits. If you have an action item for me come back when Mpls is not being tear gassed

Because my energy is so limited by ME/CFS I need help with almost everything I do in a day, spend 18-22 hours in bed, and am using the rest to monitor an active occupation of my city?

I don't have energy to eat, bathe, or do other basic care

Friend I founded a mask bloc while multiple disabled and it severely worsened my disabilities and now I live in bed (in Minneapolis)

I cannot do whatever it is you are asking me to do right now

Things happening in the resistance that I (+ so many others) am excluded from because people are not universally masking:

Protests, including sit ins
Most in-person teach-ins
Grieving at the memorials
Snacks given by neighbors
The town halls by our politicians
Offers of transportation

When ICE leaves the city, will you take the steps that allow me & my loved ones to leave my house again, or do we not matter because the big crisis moment has passed for you?

Is it okay that we can't run our own errands, shop for our own food, or safely use public transportation?

Wear a mask!

Spreading disease is not okay and deciding that disabled peoples', access, inclusion, and participation can wait until you decide it's time is not okay.

Wear a respirator (KF94, KN95, N95) IN EVERY space you think disabled people deserve to be safe.

If you bought a loon resistance shirt but won't wear a mask, you're not a safe person.

If you have 8 different whistles but don't wear a mask, you're not a safe person

If you have been to a dozen protests but you won't wear a mask to the grocery store you are not a safe person.
