Things that interest me: most sports - I'm big into fantasy football, college basketball, Cubs baseball, and Michigan football/bball, lefty politics, music - all variations of rock and Americana, movies & TV, anything that distracts from the hellscape

14.3% of the people who approved of the job he was doing in March have changed their minds.

That's a massive portion!

Imagine if a subscription based service like Netflix lost 14.3% of their subscribers in 9 months. They'd be acting like the sky is falling.

I think Jesse Minter is more likely than a promotion for Biff, though the timing there is awkward with the Chargers in the playoff hunt.

I could be wrong, but I think the tack they're taking is that the health *insurance* industry is a huge malevolent machine ripping off America, and we want you to negotiate directly with your health care providers instead.

Yes, when someone is having a heart attack, or a stroke, or has a broken leg...what they really want in that moment is to be able to take competitive bids and pick the treatment that makes the most fiscal sense for them.

All of the best people have $1 Million to gift to the US. Everybody's saying it.

Just saying out loud that the value/quality of a person is based on their wealth.

Or if there was harassment after things ended or something of that nature.

Like, it's already been a really harsh winter, and it's not even winter yet.

Painful realization I just had - Even though we've had high temps here in Chicago around freezing or colder for what feels like a month straight now...the official start of winter is still a week and a half away.

Right, if they wanted to go for someone with the same *other* issue, I think Bryan Harsin or Bobby Petrino would be interested

He was also pretty funny on Avenue 5, a show that deserved a longer run than it got.

The absolute best part is that this tweet is Pinned.

This is the tweet that this person wants to be judged by.

Has it really been that long?

I swear Doyle was still part of the mix with Mo-Alie and Kylen Granson just a year or two ago

This is Jack Doyle slander.

Since 2000, the only Colts TE with more receiving yards than Jack Doyle is Dallas Clark.

A lot of mainstream news outlets spent a lot of ink on the story, and almost none of them stated what was plainly obvious.

But in a political environment where we're seeing 10%+ swings towards Dems in districts all over the country, you run the risk of a massive backfire where you don't win those competitive districts and you turn stronghold districts competitive in the process.

10.12.2025 16:32 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

This result last night illustrates the risk the GOP is running headlong into with gerrymandering.

By it's nature, gerrymandering spreads your voters thinner across the districts, pulling GOP voters out of stronghold districts and moving them into other more competitive districts to steal seats...

Still don't know how anyone in their right mind believes Musk wasn't really doing a Nazi signal back in January.

He shares and agrees with shit like this on Twitter ALL THE TIME

Some other fun first 3 starts...

Austin Davis
937 yards
6:2 TD:INT ratio
100.6 passer rating

Jake Browning
856 yards
4:2 TD:INT ratio
113.4 passer rating

Case Keenum
822 yards
7:0 TD:INT ratio
105.1 passer rating

I made the playoffs pretty much everywhere except my two highest stakes dynasty leagues.

Roughly 75% of my teams still alive, but less than 25% of my total buy-in dollars still alive.

To be clear - I mean this is the reason those pundits cite as why Dems lost.

09.12.2025 16:10 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this why a bunch of pundits think Dems lost in 2024?

Touting a strong economy that didn't match the reality that everyday Americans were experiencing?

I think it's still there when he wants to cut it loose. He looked just fine on the scramble in OT that was called back for a holding penalty.

If Miami plays Virginia in the ACC title game, all of this Miami-ND discussion is moot.

If Miami wins, they get the auto-bid, and if they lose, they don't leapfrog ND.

08.12.2025 22:14 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Absolutely. I think the answer is - if you have a tie for a spot in your conference title game that can't be sorted by head-to-head outcomes, you have to go to some kind of rankings to break the tie, whether that's the CFP rankings or some sort of combo of different ranks like FPI, Sagarin, CFP, etc

08.12.2025 22:13 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Moving Bama ahead of Notre Dame for seemingly no reason last week served one purpose - giving the committee a plausible path to getting Miami into the CFP if Duke managed to win the title game.

I'm convinced Notre Dame would be in had Virginia won the ACC title game.

08.12.2025 21:55 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 4    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It's clear to me that there are political considerations that come into play beyond who the best teams are.

For example, it seems like the committee made a conscious decision that the ACC wasn't getting shut out of the playoff.

I think it's really tough with a player like Bonds, who we all probably acknowledge was a HOF caliber player before steroids.

But guys like Brady Anderson or Rich Aurilia who had a massive HR spike, it's pretty easy to assume they started before the spike

08.12.2025 21:43 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 1

Sure, but the alternative was to include a 1-loss Kansas team that had zero wins against the final top-25 teams all season (they avoided OU and Texas) when LSU beat 4 top-25 teams (and 2 top-10 teams)

08.12.2025 21:31 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

2007 LSU would like a word.

They won the title with 2 losses in the BCS era where only the top-2 teams got a chance
