I think the line between rejecting sale of a building to ICE and opposing Trump’s policy isn’t as clean as this makes it out to be. Most of these local government votes likely reflect NIMBYism more than anything else.

Germany did not hide many of its discriminatory policies either, including the Nuremberg laws. It attempted to hide the concentration camps but largely failed, though most did not understand the scope or scale of the atrocities committed there.

At that point, “deportation” is a misnomer. They would be detention camps.
