People keep saying that & I’m like:
- Why did we ditch masking in places that had it previous to the pandemic?
- what happened to all our dashboards? What about our metrics for shutdowns?
- why aren’t we given masks and tests?
- what about ventilation?
- why aren’t all shots free

I'm sure many of you have heard by now that earlier this week, IU k*lled the print edition of its student paper, the IDS. The issue that was supposed to print this week contained criticism of the Whitten regime and IUs further slide into scist control, and they couldn't allow that to happen during Homecoming, when all the rich alumni are in town.
Enter Purdue! The Purdue student paper, The Exponent, owns its own presses. Yesterday, in an act of tremendous solidarity with their biggest rival school, they printed the forbidden issue of the IDS. They then drove it to Bloomington overnight and stocked all of the IDS boxes on campus, just in time for Homecoming.
Solidarity is what makes us stronger, and solidarity will be what ultimately allows us to triumph, if we can ever truly get it together. I hope everyone has a fun, safe day if they're going out today, and I hope we can think about what acts of solidarity we can begin taking to really make this movement MOVE - beyond a permitted expression of upset into more active resistance.

Stephen Miller said the quiet part out loud. Trump has “plenary authority,” then suddenly went silent. Their plan wasn’t to be public yet. Clearly, someone hit the panic button in his earpiece.
It gets weirder: CNN uploaded the interview with the “plenary authority” comment edited out.

Screenshot of National Post article which reads:
Organs are allocated to the person in most need, and the best match.
Organs from Ontario donors are first allocated to Ontario or Canadian residents on a waitlist, Ontario Health, which oversees the province’s organ and tissue donation organization, said in an email to National Post.
If the organs aren’t matched or accepted by a transplant program in Ontario or other Canadian program, they’re then offered to the U.S through the United Network for Organ Sharing.
Screenshot of National Post article which reads:
“Ontario has partnerships and reciprocity agreements with other Canadian provinces and UNOS to share donated organs,” Ontario Health said.
“This practice ensures that as many people benefit as possible, a family’s donation wishes are fulfilled and all viable organs are used, thereby maximizing the generous gift provided by donors and their families.”
In 2024, 13 organs were exported to the U.S.; 63 were imported, according to CIHI.

With all of the extensive blood/tissue typing needing to ensure compatibility with the organ recipient, maybe there was not anyone currently on the list in Canada who was a match for this particular donor organ?
I’ll do some searching and see if I can learn more on this topic.

Political violence is abhorrent. I have not celebrated Kirk's death.
But Newsom calling for his followers to "continue Charlie Kirk's work," someone who praised stoning gay people as "god's perfect law," who called for men to "take care of" trans people like they did in the 50s and 60s, is not it.

The most piercing judgments of Charlie Kirk I see today are the ones that simply quote his words for all to hear. What a legacy he earned.

It’s upsetting how many people are prioritizing their personal grievances with her over this reporting. Dems paid people to normalize hospital bombings, that’s the crime that needs to be addressed.

Except that "Mass Deportations Now" was the literal fucking theme of the whole Republican campaign.
Maybe they didn't vote for chaos tariffs even though Trump campaigned on tariffs. They probably didn't vote to end USAid and defund universities.
But they voted for the deportations - all of them.

Liberals joined conservatives to mainstream anti-vax beliefs about viruses and public health
Viruses are bad for kids' health. Public health is a collective effort. Liberals no longer believe either.
As someone who spends a lot of time dealing w vax hesitant ppl and who has reported on anti vaxx movements for a decade, it's been infuriating see liberals/leftists normalize eugenics & lie to ppl thinking that they're helping. Vaccines are amazing, but we do not yet have a sterilizing vax for Covid

Just a friendly reminder that our current Covid vaccines do not meaningfully prevent infection or transmission of Covid. Misleading the public about this fact led to massive distrust about vaccines and record vaccine hesitancy. It's SO crucial to make ppl aware of this fact to fight vax hesitancy

Screenshot of a Reddit post from r/pandaexpress
It reads Anyone else's store put up this notice?
And then has a photo of a typed piece of paper which reads: At Panda, we are dedicated to providing a warm, welcoming, and engaging environment for both our guests and associates. Open and friendly interactions are a key part of our hospitality philosophy, and clear communication-including the ability to see facial expressions-enhances teamwork and guest service. To ensure consistency across all locations while balancing individual needs, we are introducing the following guidelines regarding mask usage for all associates.
Policy:
Beginning April 20, 2025 associates should not wear a mask covering any part of their face while working, unless required for specific job duties or safety protocols.
• Guests are welcome to wear masks at their discretion.
• Associates desiring an exemption to this policy for medical, religious, or other protected reasons should speak with their manager or HR.
• This policy applies to all associates, both front-of-house and back-of-house, except in locations where local or state regulations require otherwise.
• Associates in California should note that this policy is not applicable in California due to pending state legislation.
Panda remains committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace and will work with individuals to address specific needs while maintaining a high standard of teamwork and guest service. This approach ensures consistency across our locations while allowing for appropriate accommodations when needed. Any accommodation requests must be submitted in the LOA/Accommodation Portal for review and approval.
Panda Express becomes the latest business to ban masks for employees, insisting that being able to see facial expressions is necessary for team building.
This is ableist & discriminatory. Employees have to apply to be allowed to mask, putting an undue burden on disabled staff.

It is a campaign of erasure: the systematic extermination of an occupied people, not for defense, but annihilation. Every man woman & child is marked for death or exile, every home, school, hospital reduced to ash. Now, even shedding a tear for this horror has become a crime in the land of the free.
