deep down underneath all this there is a mildly interesting ethical question about conflicting accomodations and what to do in truly no-win situations, but given that is downstream of like nine thousand other oppressive things i suppose it isn't worth interrogating

i am in agreement but believe it is because the American media ecosystem is largely corporatist rino squishes

my dumb take is that he knows he doesn’t have a great path via what the dem base wants right now but if he can convert the corporatist rino squishes and the vote blue no matter who freaks he will be installed

I understand where you are coming from but man, humanoids are interesting because they can do a lot of things well-enough, but not because they do them quickly

thinking through the various robots we have to do in production lad very few would benefit from less specialization

I should refund my fixed price customers as well, but then am I also refunding on my assumed margin, too?

20.02.2026 18:48 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

The right thing for us to do, and what we will end up doing, is ask each of the importers for a refund, then do the forensic math to issue our customers a refund on the passed through tarriff, but what about fixed price shit?

20.02.2026 18:46 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Let’s do some actual industrial math here:

Last year my firm paid about 125k in tariffs that we wouldn’t have paid. Of those, about half were paid to importer of record services (DHL, ups) and half were paid to the Importing company. Of that 125, about half was billed to a customer.

I’m sure it’s my own residual protestant brainrot around the perception of laziness, but I do think that cheap delivery services for all as a whole are not great for society and should be reserved for special occasions or for those with access needs

it's also probably the least effort to attract the at-best schizoid preferences of the low-information electorate that does vote
