Keep going, you've almost got it! Your job is to _____ the laws written by Congress.

It's just insane the degree to which the federal government has simply declared war on a U.S. state. A punitive war with no discernible objective other than to immiserate its people. bsky.app/profile/apne...

It seems like it's Minnesota's own money they're trying to withhold from Minnesota.

Which wild, evil, and unlawful.

Minnesota is consistently a so-called donor state, meaning its federal tax contribution exceeds the amount it receives in federal funding.

The federal government collected about $119 billion in tax revenue from Minnesota residents and businesses in 2023. The state, in return, received about $75 billion to support health care, nutrition, Social Security and other programs, according to USAFacts, a not-for-profit organization that analyzes government data.

That $44 billion difference between taxes and revenue equated to about $7,600 per Minnesotan. And among 19 donor states in 2023, Delaware was the only one where residents had a higher net cost than Minnesotans.

Honestly, they should set up a system to just keep the money they are owed.

And, then, sure, escrow the extra.

I would like to see that, but set up by the state legislatures. We don't need to fight executive over-reach with executive over-reach.

Yo, Vance, I trust Minnesota with my tax money far more than I do your evil regime.

That sounds good, but if so you have to wonder how this case ever got this far: after all, we're looking at years of complaints by the owner until they finally tried a civil suit to get remedy.

Obviously they are laying the ground work for the next layer of the big lie: that these states were never legitimately Dem-majority.

Waffle Place - Gator Days

Characters

Terry - Bear - The drummer for Fork Fight. Happy to be included.

Shirtless Kyle - Raccoon - The guitarist and lead vocalist for Fork Fight. Perpetually shirtless and yells a lot.

Shirt Kyle - Rabbit - The bassist and back up vocalist for Fork Fight. Perpetually wearing a shirt and annoyed.

Hans - Beaver - The keyboardist for Fork Fight. He wears sunglasses inside.

Transcript

Panel 1

Fork Fight has just finished playing a gig. Terry is loading the last piece of equipment into the van and asking everyone what they want to do for dinner.

Terry: Van is packed! Where are we getting dinner?

Shirtless Kyle: WAFFLE PLACE!

Panel 2

The rest of the band is not enthusiastic about going to Waffle Place again but arguing with Shirtless Kyle usually doesn't end well. Especially when he's yelling and waving his arms around.

Shirt Kyle: Again? It's trash.

Shirtless Kyle: IT'S TRADITION!

Hans: Fine... Let's go.

Panel 3

Everyone is at Waffle place. There's a big silly waffle mascot with a big silly waffle grin on the wall saying "LET'S WAFFLE". There are disturbing implications about a sentient waffle being happy about people eating waffles. Everyone's food just looks like a big gray mess. No one looks happy. Shirt Kyle stares off into space and imagines all the other places he could be right now. Him being right about this place does not bring satisfiction when he still has to endure the awful food.

Panel 4

Despite being the one who wanted to come here, Shirtless Kyle says what's on everyone's mind.

Shirtless Kyle: This place is awful! Why do we keep coming here?

This will not be their last time going to Waffle Place.

It seems obvious on its face that receiving a free review copy, getting paid for writing a review, & then selling the copy for profit would be wrong.

Assuming you have no reason to keep it, I'd imagine you could:

* Return it to the publisher (maybe)
* Pass it along to another reviewer
* Destroy it

Where do you see a matter of ethics / morals coming into play here?

25.02.2026 17:53 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

So it's been a decade since I last studied ethics, but while I can see a discussion about the conflict of interest in selling a product that you influence the value of (via reviewing it), I'm at a loss as to where the ethical issue is in sharing an image of a public conversation (with alt text).

Whether it's the original, historic Rainbow flag or one of the newer, more inclusive flags like the Progress Pride flag, there's an educational opportunity about the ongoing evolution of the fight for equality that the Stonewall National Monument is known for being part of.

I would imagine that postal carriers may still face loss of employment, assuming their supervisors learn of the behavior and disagree.

They marked her mail undeliverable and returned it to the sender

They blocked her & her tenants from receiving doctor’s bills, medications, credit card statements, car titles, property tax statements, & more

Indeed. My county is Republican-led and they removed all drop-off options for mail-in ballots β€œdue to security concerns.”

They've never even tried to explain it, but my feeling is that they are anti-mail voting and they'd refuse mail-ins if the law didn't force them to accept those.

My plan is to vote by mail but carefully document and track the whole process (like usual) so I can cast a provisional ballot if it fails to arrive.

And, if it fails to arrive, share my documentation with local media so hopefully it can be determined if it was fluke.
