Read This When Things Fall Apart by Kelly Hayes | Pilsen Community Books
A bundle of letters to activists and organizers on the frontlines in catastrophic times from Let This Radicalize You co-author Kelly Hayes In social movements, some heartbreaks are all but inevitable.
My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.

If you accidentally post AI slop and are told “hey that’s AI” the correct answer is to go “aw shit I didn’t know” and delete it. Not “oh oops oh well, watcha gonna do” and keep it up because it’s giving you engagement. Stop it.

I remember seeing The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi on an anticipated YA release list, even though the marketing made it clear the main character was a grown adult woman who was retired from her pirate adventures.

I'm doing HRCYED 2! - AJ Reardon - Book Blogger
Why am I doing this challenge? Uh, because a friend of mine mentioned it and I can't resist a reading challenge, that's why!
I'm reading more books than ever thanks to canceling almost all our streaming services, and as we move into the Long Dark, I'll be spending even more time at home reading, so why not join a very difficult, complicated reading challenge?

I did have a dream last night that I knew an author's address and I had agreed to give something to her, but I realized it would be really weird and creepy if I just showed up at her house 😅

Book Review: Slippery Beast by Ellen Ruppel Shell - AJ Reardon - Book Blogger
You get weird reactions when you tell people you're reading a book about eels.
The two important things you need to know about Slippery Beast by Ellen Ruppel Shell is:
1. It's not really a true crime book.
2. It's really good anyway.

Book Review: Fate's Bane by C.L. Clark - AJ Reardon - Book Blogger
Just the right sort of book to read while inside, under a blanket, with a hot beverage, while you occasionally sigh wistfully and stare off into the rain, dreaming of the fens and forbidden love.
Continuing my trend of posting my book reviews late at night and then wondering why no one reads them. Anyway, Fate's Bane by C.L. Clark is not a cozy book, per se, but it has very good vibes for getting physically cozy and feeling wistful on an autumn day.

I was a Christian homeschool kid who up until age 12 lived in a small, remote town where we only got a few channels. Then I became a nerdy teen who preferred books to TV and movies. It's probably easier to list what I have actually seen.

Good luck! When I tried to make an appointment (they didn't have a good time for me that week) they let me select which vax I wanted, so that should really help you get what you need!

I'm pretty sure I saw someone on here saying they got it at Costco, and I've heard elsewhere you can walk in for vaccines without a membership.
If you can get to Shoreline and need someone with a membership to sneak you in, I'm 5 mins from the Shoreline Costco ;)

Book Review: Ladies in Hating by Alexandra Vasti - AJ Reardon - Book Blogger
I've long-since established that I don't like enemies to lovers. But rivals to lovers? Yeah, that's the stuff.
Rivals to lovers > enemies to lovers.
Ladies in Hating by Alexandra Vasti is a sapphic romance between two rival Gothic novelists and I enjoyed it so much.

I definitely think we are in a brand new end stage era of publishing when the trendy thing is “garlic-scented book brought to you by a major mayonnaise company.”

A tricolor corgi lying upside down in her bed. There is a ball in front of her and a cart full of treats behind her.
You approach a corgi in her bed. Do you:
1. Rub the belly
2. Throw the ball
3. Give her a treat

Side note: I use "I'm way too demisexual for this" for romantic and erotic content that doesn't turn my crank, so to speak, but I might start using it for everything. Freezer-burned peas? Boring TV show? Uncomfortable shirt? I'm way too demisexual for all of it.
