After a discussion with their attorney, I have confirmed that Juan, his 16-month-old sister, his mom, and his dad have been deported.

Ahh, that sounds good in its own way πŸ˜€

I like pancake day, though. You should give it a whirl.

You don't get pancake day in the USA?

Do you even know what a tankie is?

They literally said that the two parties disagreed on NATO in the original post.

They then listed two specific foreign policy areas. Israel and Military spending. Is there a large difference between the two parties in terms of the military and political support provided to Israel?

17.02.2026 17:23 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

They didn't say "nearly as bad". They said "paved the way" and then listed specific policy areas and decisions made.

Your inability to argue against any of those points suggests they may not be as "self evident" as you believe.

17.02.2026 17:09 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Ok. That should be easy for you to debunk then.

Pick any one and show why it is "not even remotely true".

Or are you now rowing back your initial strong claim of it not being remotely true into a "they're exaggerating"?

Which bit is demonstrably false?

You could claim some of it is exaggerated but it's all at least remotely true and denying that is half of the problem.

Surely this is the moment to make sure candidates are selected who aren't useless?

PR and DC are the two that are closest to it in all the analysis I've ever seen.

Of course if you really want to make a difference you can split DC & PR and admit them as multiple states.

Or convince California to split into multiple states...

The world's richest man is broadcasting eliminationist rhetoric about a tiny, vulnerable minority, and virtually no one is going to treat it as a scandal. It's just normal now.

Disgusting way to respond to a journalist. It's so Trump-like. Belittle, deny, mock, dismiss, nothing to see here, move on, call out the news organisation.

This is just a tiny taste of how Reform UK would act if ever allowed into power.

Yes. Biden screwed her.

And the fact that so few people in the Dems were willing to stop Biden from running again was also political malpractice.

But once she was selected her job was to win. Not stroke an old man's ego.

1. Much harder for SCOTUS to do on state charges than federal ones.

2. So make them do it and use that to campaign for the badly needed reform.

[joke]Or just take the immunity decision, shoot the existing Justices and appoint new ones. [/joke]

That certainly didn't help.

And the fact that she did absolutely nothing to distance herself from Biden was political malpractice.

She lost due to an enthusiasm gap.

I'm open to suggestions as to how you build enthusiasm but offering something to your base seems like a good starting point.

We're all stuck on this planet with you lot.

The vast majority of progressive voices (yes, you'll always find one nut with any fringe position) do not want either of those things.

17.02.2026 14:10 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

We tried it your way.

You lost the election.

Now your plan B is to shout at people who pointed out flaws in your plan A and then try the same thing again.

17.02.2026 14:08 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

No. The Supreme Court was in the hands of Conservatives.

Biden had the power to appoint, hire, fire. Set DoJ policy, etc.

Just look at the bullshit Trump has pulled in just one year. Did the Dems show even 1% of that energy?

The SCOTUS and Filibuster are convenient excuses to do nothing.

They say Reform is a huge threat - but if they really believed that then why are they not doing even the most minor electoral reform?

Banning big money. Proper teeth in regulators. Doing something about the poison from GB News, etc. etc.

Instead they'd rather lock up pensioners.

17.02.2026 14:00 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Ooph, that's rough.

I'm in a constituency like that at the moment, but if all goes to plan we'll have moved before the election so hopefully won't be in that situation.

This is another example of what I'm talking about, though. Why should we need to vote tactically? Labour have absolute power.

17.02.2026 13:59 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I agree. More people should vote tactically.

I am merely pointing out that if he wants more people to vote tactically then calling them lazy and stupid is not the way to do that.

Understanding why people don't vote is step one to convincing them to get out and do it.

17.02.2026 13:53 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

And the recent Welsh results shows that Labour isn't always the smart choice to beat Reform - even in supposedly safe Labour seats.

17.02.2026 13:49 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

In the General Election? Tactical anti-reform vote.

Outside the GE is more complicated. For example I'm supporting Greens in Gorton & Denton as the risk from one more powerless blow-hard Reform MP is low whereas the potential for Green momentum makes a Reform government less likely in the long run.

17.02.2026 13:48 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Yes.

Harris would say that Trump was an existential threat who must be defeated.

And yet neither she nor Biden did a single fucking thing to stop him while they had power.

How were people supposed to take the threat seriously when it was clear that the very people supposed to fight him didn't?

17.02.2026 13:44 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

And why did they sit on them for 3 years?

Look at this Epstein stuff? Why the hell is that coming out now not 4 years ago?

Biden & Harris controlled both branches of congress and the DoJ.

And yet they'd rather use Trump as a blackmail threat to control the left than do something to stop him.

17.02.2026 13:43 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The problem with holding the Trump gun to people's heads is that the gun is also pointed at your head.

Now the gun has gone off and you're still blaming the people you were trying to hold hostage. Not the people with the gun.

Give people something to vote for, not just something to vote against.

17.02.2026 13:41 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

And you wonder why you lost the election.

It amazes me that you'd rather see Trump in power than concede an inch to progressives.
