This is getting out of hand! Now, there are two of them!

We feel like a boss fight this year but I have a sickening feeling we’ll miss the playoff because of 1 or 2 really dumb losses.

Definitely made a better story after the fact, but weird to have to actively ignore your β€œget under cover” instinct and actually stay in the wide open part of the room.

And that’s before even getting to tsunami zones…which I thankfully do not live in one.

Honestly the correct number of earthquakes. My dad was in an industrial tool warehouse during the big one and was pretty lucky to be far away from the shelving once shit got real

My second earthquake was much stronger so there was an immediate β€œSWEET LORD OF FUCK THIS IS AN EARTHQUAKE” and then you wonder how bad it’s gonna get since it builds up.

My first earthquake that I was old enough to remember was the β€œKingdome Quake” in 1996.

My brother was a bit squirrelly in the seats at age 8 and was rocking around. Then at some point, he was rocking so hard that it was shaking the entire row.

Then it dawned on the adults that this made no sense.

Seems pretty obvious to me that even the β€œtrade deals” so far are along the lines of β€œbuy time to limit domestic impact while we pivot trade to China/etc” for other countries.

We (the US) are cooked on both ends.

I’m just happy the Mariners are doing something at the deadline for once in my life. I’m still not over them standing pat in *2001* because they didn’t want to pay Brian Giles $3,000,000…

BMW tech comes in clutch here since EA has a plug and charge setup where as soon as I plug in, the car and station figure out their shit together and the charge just starts going.

I was pleasantly surprised when I couldn’t use my home charger for a few weeks that Seattle City Light owned chargers let you use a credit card. Bonkers that this felt unusual.

The final weeks before a baby arrives are the strangest calm before the storm. Especially when you’ve had a baby before, you know what’s coming but it’s so…abstract.

The latest Old McDonald’s canonical farm according to Charlie has:
- Rice
- A T-Rex
- A Bus
- Water
- A Ferrari F1 Car (presumably with the seat full of water).

This adds up.

Yes - the constitution assumed that the congress would be self-interested in preventing a Presidency like this and that was enough. That’s been clearly disproven by those factors.

End of the day our system of laws made it possible for Trump to do a lot of things where the legal constraints were powerless to stop him. If you don’t fix that all a punishment of Trump will do is ensure the next person goes further to stay out of court.

I don’t know the answer to this but I wonder how these compare to examples of Truth and Reconciliation Committees (South Africa, Canada, Peru, South Korea) that were not prosecution focused but prevention focused.

I’d pick preventing Trump II over punishing Trump.

I’m with you there. Media narratives are very good at finding the most repulsing examples of horrifying crimes to manufacture consent for harsher and harsher punishments. But it often just makes things worse. There’s a reason laws like β€œlife in prison for kidnapping” made things much worse.
