Great to meet Zara, who is campaigning for better representation of bald people in media, fashion and public life ✨

Around 70% of bald women feel misrepresented in the media, and children with visible differences face higher risks of bullying. Representation matters.

I shared the thoughts and experiences of Basingstoke parents, students and teachers on SEND with the Secretary of State for Education.

I was really pleased to hear that she is taking on board our recommendations, and that local families and professionals will help shape the changes ahead.

Really proud to be a part of the scheme

Chris and Peter set up the scheme following the Centre for Social Justice’s report "The Lost Boys" detailing the crisis of identity, belonging, and aspiration among young boys and men in our country

The rise of buy-now, pay-later discounts – and how it’s landing women in debt Incentives to use delayed-pay schemes are pushing people to spend more than they can afford, charities warn

Was quoted in this article. Retailers should not be incentivising people to get into debt who are not able to afford it. Stricter Gov rules in July 2026 for mandatory affordability checks are much needed.

Great to visit Queen Mary’s College to meet students and chat about A levels and everything they get involved in beyond the classroom. Great to see the focus on confidence, skills and preparing young people for whatever journey comes next.

At the budget 250 new health β€˜one stop shops’ were announced - bringing the right local combination of GPs, nurses, dentists and pharmacists together under one roof to meet the needs of a town

I'm fighting for Basingstoke to be front of the queue: www.lukemurphy.org.uk/bring-a-neig...

🧡2/4 This Labour government is delivering on growth – 6 interest rate cuts, growth up by 1.5%, and taking advantage of the emerging clean energy sector. But this growth needs to be felt by all of us in Basingstoke and across the country

Leaseholder in Basingstoke? This matters.

Since being elected, I’ve been campaigning to end unfair ground rents. The Government has now acted.

Ground rents capped at Β£250, new leasehold flats banned, and ground rent moving to zero over time.

This Labour Government is delivering on living standards. We welcome the Warm Homes Plan for cutting energy bills now, investing in warm, efficient homes, and tackling fuel poverty at its roots - showing that raising living standards means acting on the costs families feel every day.

It was great to host Minister Macdonald to brief the Climate Change APPG on the government's Clean Energy Jobs Plan.

I asked the Minister about how the transition to clean jobs can support bringing down energy bills and ease the cost of living.

Another smart, green start-up choosing Basingstoke.

Thanks for having me Re-Tyre!

They’ve developed world-first technology that extracts high-quality rubber from old tyres so it can be reused in new ones. The whole process is waste-free, even the water is recycled.
