It’s little stuff like this that doesn’t really help. How in gods name, after 4 years, have they not got a website with a functional UI? #NUFC

4. We need a fit for purpose (ie elite) executive structure

Just been having the same chat with my lad. His take: ‘well it’s not like he’s a Bruno or a Big Joe. Newcastle’s not a place for primadonnas’

Oh aye I mean he’s mint, but he’s not irreplaceable. He’s mint because EH and the staff got the best out of him

Yep. I'm not bothered about him either way. Watched him phone in enough games last season to know he's replacable. But if he goes, it sends a message to every agent out there that contracts are pointless

I absolutely adore academia but man, being in arts and humanities is brutal. I'm still early on and not finished PhD yet, so there's that, but ticking all the person spec points & not even getting past HR sift. I freelanced for 25 years and now remembering why! :)

phd is cooking on gas, which is more than I can say for new career. That's 7th straight job rejection this morning. Starting to wonder whether academia was the daftest career choice I've made yet, and there's been some competition #phdsky #academicsky 😩

Agent signals interest to one club, then
signals to another, gets them both bidding off against each other, maximises commission

Who we gonna put on the bench at Christmas??!! Eek!

Mate, I've been supporting this club for about 40 years... there *are* no expectations :)

How washed up? Wissa's older but proven scorer, good Wilson replacement. Thiaw's a 24 y/o CB with pace & height. Jackson's also 24, but raw with pontential for EH to mould. Hardly washed up. Scouting dep got it right with literally every other signing.

Yeah, that's a good point. Alright... it would be a 'somewhat salvaged window' ;)

We've had a good window if we sign Thiaw, Wissa and Jackson. I reckon all three would be great for us. Get the Villa lad too and we're golden #NUFC

One of my favourite moments of last season was when we all serenaded him to stay. He's up there alongside Pav and Shay as a club legend I reckon

Exactly. Is he worth it on paper? Who knows other then EH.

Will he be worth it if he bangs in a few against Real or PSG? Scores the winner in a cup final? Makes the difference between Europe or not? I wouldn't care if he cost £1 or a billion.

In 16/17 we shot a documentary following a football season by following fans. We got a Hollywood ending when #NUFC won the Championship on the last day. Then we got dicked by our investor and in 17/18 STID was made. From STID came Wrexham, then this Brum thing. But We Are The Geordies was first. 🖤🤍

Wouldn’t it be amazing! Imagine having not one, but… two top of the range strikers and a bench without 3 keepers & a recent academy graduate 🤣

We need to put this Isak shiz to bed once and for all, and get the hell out of the news cycle. It’s killing us being front and centre because now every potential deal + the increasing sense of desperation is being projected daily, & it’s just blood in the water

Agents Isak and Osula walk smirking and high fiving out of the training facility in Spain

I can pretty much guarantee that a striker under contract would not be allowed to train with another team without permission. It'd be like... I dunno... Netflix allowing their best writer to go and work at Disney while he worked out a deal for Prime to buy the show he was running. Unthinkable.

On the upside, getting a season ticket for 26/27 is looking like a good bet. Every cloud. #NUFC

might be crediting them with too much morality, but beginnining to wonder whether it's a concerted effort to oppose PIF ownership through financial might. Would we be shut out of the market if we were owned by an American group?

29.07.2025 10:59 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

never seen anything quite like it. It's the sort of thing you see from congloms gobbling up competition. Was always skeptical about a cartel narrative but watching each signing interest being leaked then quickly taken out of contention is utterly disheartening as a fan, & I imagine for players too

29.07.2025 10:56 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

I’m fighting my cynicism on this, but it is starting to feel awfully like we’re being deliberately shut out of the market. Is it that, or is the market just so limited this window that we’re all competing for the same talent?

Defs league and fa cups, for sure. But they’re lotteries. You can’t bank on them. Even the best teams will get knocked out by Forest Green on a particularly bad day.

But we don’t have to negotiate a deal remember - getting Wissa/Sesko isn’t dependent on Isak. We could always keep hold if LFC don’t meet the valuation. Theres plenty room on the bench if he gets sulky :)

I wouldn’t say we’re being schooled… we’re just in a different financial position. They’ve had over a decade of development and more, we’ve had almost 4 years.
