Chuck Schumer has bragged for a long time about the process by which he makes decisions. it involves an imaginary family called the Baileys. it would be wild if instead of asking his imagination and pretending it's independent of himself, he had to sit in a caucus room and ask people who have debt.

to be fair to the text, when Schumer says this is "what Democrats want," he might be right, because he doesn't mean 'voters' or 'our occupied neighbors.' he means "the obscenely wealthy elected officials in my caucus, who are Democrats as a profession."

I keep seeing this confident declaration of what people want pop into my feed, interspersed among posts from people at small town/precinct level caucus meetings in Minnesota where the anecdata is "everybody hates brownshirts and wants them tried for war crimes."
