I don't like the super bowl and I don't like bad bunny but I am overjoyed that bad bunny is playing at the super bowl.

Perf sucked, but yeah, it's early access. The audio skipping was honestly the most jarring issue I had, but I'm sure it will get better.

I'm cautiously excited about the inclusion of more survival-based systems. Having to cook my own food and potentially craft my own gear is interesting. The souls/elden ring games had you just haphazardly acquiring so much gear you'd never use, I like the idea of making it such an explicit action.

The combat animations also feel incredibly weighty, but strike that balance where it doesn't feel like I'm pressing a button and then watching a movie (looking at you Lords of the Fallen). It feels responsive, but still requires commitment to your actions.

I was delightfully surprised at how free the movement felt. Normally in an isometric RPG it feels very 2D - locked to a plane with strict collision and limited interaction with the environment. This felt more like Zelda BoTW, my character jumping on things and climbing up onto obstacles. Love it.

Is there some new rule that every RPG must begin on a ship that's about to wreck on a mysterious island?

...that said, my character looks like a goddamn orangutan. Jesus christ the arms on this woman. She could scratch the bottom of her foot without bending over. I know that the souls series famously have exaggerated proportions because its better for gameplay, but this takes it up a notch.

The art style is incredible - very obvious Arcane influence, but when I saw Odessa(?)'s face in the cutscene, I was really blown away. It continued on with the cutscene of the King's funeral, such great execution of tech, art direction and animation. Would love to hear a talk on how they did it.

Bought #norestforthewicked in early access. A few thoughts!

Finally watched Andor and I do not understand the hype. It was just boring. I think star wars fans are so starved for even the most basically competent writing and a humanized, lived-in version of it's bloated fan-service universe, a drop of either turns it into Shakespeare.

If Hillary had just changed it to AfghanHERstan, the wars would've ended and we'd have had the neoliberal gray space just ok world we've all been dreaming of.

What got me was the narrative balls to have nothing make any sense until the third act of the game, then gut punch you with the "this is a horrible situation for everyone involved". Everything else was fine, but that revelation sticks with me.

Demanding Trump apologize for something horrible he said is like demanding a toddler explain why they rubbed their shitty diaper on the wall - you are pretending a reasonable interaction is possible when it is not.

After living in California my friends back in rural virginia love it when I visit and explain to them that everything they buy is 'basically free'.
