Her family said she must be happy about the Trump admin trying to kill it, but she said actually, she may have changed her mind, since it now only takes 25 mins to get to work compared to an hour previously

I found the most dangerous thing in the East Bronx, and it’s got more than 2 wheels 🚙 but look 👀 I found a nice stand up scooter also!

OpenCycleMap or CyclOSM are the most accurate and legible bicycle route maps (because people like me have poured thousands of hours into updating OpenStreetMap).

IMO the State’s map is probably best improved through government GIS staff sharing up-to-date data w MnDOT via MN Bikeways Data Standard.

Following! I actually have been mainly mapping recreationally. Most of what I've done in NYC is 🚲 parking, CitiBike stations particularly in outer borough neighborhoods. I use JOSM for adding buildings, RapidID for sidewalks and GoMap! for local amenity info such as shops, 🚲 parking and CitiBike

Until our Subway’s have expanded elevator access, buses will have to do. The end 😀

Mainly because it’s at street level, it can usually can accommodate a wheelchair or two and the bus driver will not miss your stop if you tell them in advance. The issue is a lot of city traffic and the bus needs to share a lane with other cars so they can only move as fast as the car ahead of it.

This post made me think about how important it is for our mass transportation system to accommodate people who rely on mobility devices, such as their walkers, their granny cards, their wheelchairs, and even strollers. The bus in my view is the champion of all the mass Transportation options

I eventually got towards the middle of the bus, found my seat and had a front row view to all of the bickering and swearing in English, Spanish and Russian. At 67th Ave. a man with a stroller boarded and was stuck by the front like I was. There was no way he was getting through that obstacle course.

Apparently, one of the seats towards the front had some mysterious brown material on it and the original lady probably correctly guess that it was 💩 Everyone had asked her to sit down because she looked unstable, but she refused to sit on whatever the heck that was.

Roughly 5 people, including myself were stuck in the front waiting for this bottleneck to open up. This lady in front of me had a granny car and she was trying to pull over every obstacle in her path I offered to help, but she seemed more interested in just screaming at the man with walker

On board, the space on the bus, or lack there of, was a whole different story. A man in the disability section had a walker that was blocking the entire aisle. Our original lady was screaming at him in Russian and in English to move his thing. Meanwhile, the bus is already moving.

The lady in the wheelchair seem to have an issue lifting her feet because they were no foot pads on the wheelchair. The original lady tried to tailgate the wheelchair only for the bus driver to yell at her to get off the bus. But once the bus ramp had come back in, she came in and didn’t pay 🤣

She didn’t seem to understand because she didn’t move out of the way of the wheelchair nor did she seem concerned that the bus ramp was about to squash her feet. But I think the bus driver eventually convinced her to move and let the wheelchair passenger board first.

I didn’t see a queue behind me, including one passenger in a wheelchair being pushed by a relative. Once the bus pulled up to the curb, the lady who asked me for the bus time got up, and jumped the entire line. The bus driver, the lady pushing the wheelchair and everyone else started yelling

I had just left Costco and was waiting at the bus stop. There was a lady with granny cart asking me for the bus arrival time and I asked her if she knew since she was there longer. She said you should know you can check your phone so I checked and it was five minutes away. A couple minutes late, 🚌⏰

Bus appreciation post. I just left the Q60 towards Jamaica and witnessed a clash of language, mobility and transportation between 63 Drive and 68 Rd. I hope you enjoy my recollection of what is otherwise a normal day on the bus in Queens!

Weird that RFK Jr, a prominent vaccine skeptic will have a higher role than Dr. Mehmet Oz, a cardio thoracic surgeon. Say what you will about Dr. Oz but he at least has received medical training whereas RFK hasn't.

Also CMS is where my paycheck comes from so yes I am nervous about what this means.

Is it finally going to rain in New York City (and over our reservoirs)??
