Teachers spend significant personal money to provide basics for their classrooms. One of the most impactful things you can do to help local teachers is buy off their wishlist or fund a Donors Choose project for them.

I was a teacher in my mid/late 20s and I remember that hussle. First year teachers have way too much to do to be worrying about supplies & i am so happy to help. Tell her to make sure she gets sleep & asks other teachers for help, and I'm sure she'll be great.

Do you know of training/instruction for folks with physical disabilities? I have joint damage and like zero grip strength, so I don't feel particularly safe to use guns... but I wouldn't hate knowing if/how I could adapt if it came to defending people more vulnerable than myself.

100%. I always struggle to articulate, "You're not *wrong* exactly, but you're also quite wrong," when people start imagining Texas the way they do.

Since at least Trump 1.0, the ~ joke ~ in Texas has been that we can better rely on HEB, our beloved grocery chain, to provide essential relief than we can any GOP-led government, whether state or federal. It really, really shouldn't be this way. (And I say this as a die-hard HEB stan.)
