The smartest, most well-informed people I know are generally shocked to find out the Olympic bombing was an antiabortion op.

It's insane of course that people had to write that.

I know several people who've done it (not for that instrument). For youngish people, it's both an adventure and a mini financial windfall (compared to grad student/post-doc salaries) b/c the pay is essentially 100% profit (no rent, no groceries, nothing to spend money on).

Now THAT'S a non sequitur!

That sounds like a counterargument, which wouldn't be needed if the original was a non sequitur.

How could the second statement be a non sequitur? It seems like a direct comment on your preferred counterfactual (how much better a D with different positions would fare).

I welcome (and engage in) criticism of the Democratic Party and the Jones Act, but characterizing anything the party has done in the last 30+ years as "incessant deference to unions" is insane.

That was second down. On third and 16, they opted to hand off and set up the field goal.

What did they do on 3rd down?

Double-smite here for the crime against math that is "% per 100k".

Personally, the only real hold Twitter had on me was a sense that I might "miss something" by not being there. With the election over, that fear seems muted and the desire to get away from unpleasantness is stronger. I'm sure I'm not alone.
