Twitter has not and will not ever mimic society. It’s a bubble for the chronically online. It used to be a liberal bubble - friendly to most. Now it is Elon’s bubble - scary for many. I fear that I may be engaged in discourse with a teenager.. in any case, I’m done here lol

To what end brother? Only to drive away unwanted people. Besides, Elon still bans users for saying things he doesn’t like. Regardless, free speech is intended to protect from prosecution, not for allowing people to be needlessly hateful in public forums. Allowing hate speech discourages discussion

What is the point in a space like twitter to allow hate speech? What does it add to the discussion? It only drives sane people away, and quickly. Soon twitter will be an echo chamber for only the most hate-filled.

In a short while Twitter is going to be exclusively a cesspool of women-hating men, with no pushback, and adult content. Turns out a lack of moderation just leads to hateful freaks driving everyone else out of the “Town square”. The gen z/alpha equivalent of Tumblr v 4chan
