CURRENT READING
Martha Wells' ALL SYSTEMS RED. See, I read grown-up books too! Although at less (fewer?) than 150 pages this is substantially shorter than the two YA novels I just finished. The basis of the tv show MURDERBOT, which I haven't seen yet. A fun read so far, probably be done today
Tamora Pierce's ALANNA: THE FIRST ADVENTURE
RECENT READING
Tamora Pierce's ALANNA: THE FIRST ADVENTURE. YA fantasy from 1982, back when all I read was YA fantasy. Maybe I skipped it at 11 because the main character is a girl (ew yuk). I love Alanna and appreciate her speedrunning into being a badass but the finale is rushed and unsatisfying
Cover of Trenton Lee Stewart's THE MYSTERIOUS etc.
RECENT READING
Trenton Lee Stewart's THE MYSTERIOUS BENEDICT SOCIETY AND THE PRISONER'S DILEMMA and I'm already almost out of characters. A perfectly delightful and satisfying end to this YA trilogy which now has five books. I'm reading #4 soon.
Cover of comic book JONAH HEX: TWO-GUN MOJO by Joe R. Lansdale and Timothy Truman
Cover of BORN FOR TROUBLE, a collection of Hap & Leonard stories by Joe R. Lansdale
I suspect that one of my favorite authors, @joerlansdale.bsky.social has been having a bad couple days on the internet. "No, the Silicon Valley billionaire asshole's name has an O! I have an A and I make awesome Jonah Hex comics"

YOUTH GROUP by @jordanmorris.bsky.social (of podcasts Bubble and Jordan Jesse Go!) and Bowen McCurdy. A funny story of a girl whose mom pushes her to join a Christian Youth Group which turns out to be a team of demon-hunting exorcists. Pleasingly cartoonish and engaging art. Loved it
