The King David Hotel after being bombed in 1946
The “IDF” was formed out of literal terrorist groups! One such group, the Irgun, blew up Jerusalem’s King David Hotel in 1946, killing 91 people. These groups acted as death squads during the Nakba and were absorbed into the “IDF”. Irgun was also the political predecessor to the ruling Likud party.
