Finally watched Sorry to Bother You and, on top of it just being a good movie, it was a lot of fun watching something filmed in Oakland. Almost every shot, like "Yep. I know exactly where that is."

as a union organizer i talk to Actual Honest-To-God Working Class People as my job and it's genuinely surprising how much workers are *not* focused on affordability but on ICE and fascism

black and white photo of an arm. The subject is wearing a leather jacket and holding a slice of pizza with a bite taken out of it up in the air against an urban background. There is text that is too small to read in the upper right corner.

a close-up of text on a poster, just above a hand holding up a slice of pizza. The text reads "One time I was in a pizza restaurant... the waitress stopped and just looked at me and I got mad... that's probably the worst thing... the privacy thing... people don't see you as human anymore... they don't think you do human things."

This is a poster from a New Kids on the Block book that I've had on my wall for years and years because, even though the quote is about being famous, I've always found it extremely resonant to the experience of being a trans weirdo.

I went to get bagels Saturday evening for a breakfast I was hosting yesterday morning and when I ordered one dozen bagels, the guy behind the counter (who was clearly staring down the store having too many bagels) said "how about TWO dozen bagels for the same price?" so now *I* have too many bagels.

An ink drawing of Edward Gorey as an older man with thin hair and a large bushy gray beard. He’s shown walking wearing sunglasses, a massive knee-length fur coat with a big collar, a chunky knit scarf, jeans, and white sneakers. He’s holding some books under his left arm. Over his head some rough, loopy lettering reads β€˜Ogdred Weary’

Today is the centenary of Edward Gorey’s birth and I feel the best way to celebrate is with a fussy little ink drawing of the time he looked the coolest anyone ever has in human history

Amid ICE clashes, New Hampshire bishop urges clergy to prepare their wills The Episcopal bishop of New Hampshire told priests protesting ICE to get their wills and affairs in order. Some praise the bishop, while other priests say they never signed up to be martyrs.
