The Trumpified GOP offers something beyond economic policy for these voters. Trump gives them ability to hurt or frustrated other people these voters garbor a grudge against. They probably don't know Trump is shifting the burden of taxation onto them from higher earners. I doubt they care.

Trolls often make outrageous claims based on a fake premise. People then try to refute the claim while validating the premise. @washingtonpost.com you don't need to do this. Do some damn journalism and maybe point this out.

This is a sort of silly article. No one likes Vance (Vance doesn't even like Vance) and Rubio has incinerated his career just to have a seat at the kids table. Once Trump goes, the GOP will tear itself apart -the only thing holding them together is adoration of Trump (blech) and resenting others.

Kids will get older and want to doomscroll during the work day while talking with their wife about what to make for dinner. I wouldn't be surprised if younger kids age in to text based social media. And if it fails, well, I hope it takes Twitter down first.

I read this as an implicit criticism of Congressional Democratic Leadership in addition to jockeying for 2028. I think on some level these govs (even Hochul!) are understanding the mood of the base and even some learners are angry and want someone to throw a damn punch.

The GOP has spent the last 15 years+ denouncing reality when it conflicts with their world view. the worst thing the Democrats have done in there is some annoying land acknowledgements (that no one reads) and some goofy stuff with language policing (that is annoying). Those are not the same things.
