Poison control is great and runs treatment plan in the ER. Calls to follow up. Apparently snakes hiding under trash bins is a common way to get bitten. Routine chore, not paying attention. Snakes are not just in wooded areas

1) call poison control
2) have someone drive you to an ER. Bite was mild pinch followed by swelling and extreme pain after 20 minutes
3) if needed, antivenom within 4 h, very expensive!
4) not fatal but may take days or weeks to get back to normal. Lots of variability

Seriously! Try telling your preschooler that the Bluetooth isn’t connecting to headphones and they can’t listen to their tunes on your phone in a public place. They will be very understanding, I promise
